Hail
Im new to aos and went halves on a blightwar box with a friend who got the stormcast.
My question is fecund rituculturalist a good battalion in matched play? And what to get from here? Im thinking a nurgle deamon starter set since i can make a battalion in 40k as well as cheaper. Is that a good idea?
Any and all advice is welcome.

It's alright. Need to expand the plaguebearer unit to 30-man though, a start collecting will help with that and net you some other useful units as well. You will absolutely want to get a GUO.

Thank you for your fast and helpful response
After getting the starter box and hopefully a guo(expensive and awesome) would fecund rituculturalist be the best battalion or are their others i should look at?

I honestly don't use any battalions. They are all very expensive for what they do and as my area has a lot of summon armies, I need as many models as I can get on the table.
30-man plague bearers are a must though yes.

Battalions cost points yes. The nurgle battalions are all very expensive for what they do. I prefer not using them.
However I am told some of the GT players use them at times so there is no 100% answer to this.

Thanks
Is there a way to field them without one? Every time i put them in battlescribed it says that i need more battle line units which. Im guessing is like troop choices.

Battalion is different from battle line.
Battalion is a group of units that get special rules for a bonus cost.
Battle line is exactly like troop choice. You need 3 of them in a 2000 point game.

30 plaguebearers and two units of 5 blightkings won't steer you wrong.

Your overall army has to have three battleline in it at a minimum.

Battalions do not remove the battleline restriction.
