I'm new to the game, having picked up the books during the local store birthday to push me over a limit (since I've been toying with it for a while). I figured I probably wouldn't be out numbering anyone, so Mordor's bonus would be wasted, so I'd try out Angmar instead.

I was thinking of dropping the Orc bows for more spears and Hw/Shields, since Orc Shooting doesn't seem great. Is it worth dropping some dudes, the Horse, and the helm to get a Felbeast instead? The rerolls to casting seem pretty good when you are literally spending his life to cast.

I don't know anything about the Angmar forces or Fell beast specifically, but I will say it's almost always useful to have a couple guys with bows. If nothing else, they can camp backfield objectives and still get off shots. Probably won't result in much, but at least gives you a chance to do something with them.

Orc shooting is awful until one hits. No one ever expects orcs with orc bows to do anything.

They're also great for plonking on objectives or for reinforcing lines.

yeah i've started to find that in my mordor force i hit something with range. decent at close range but lacking most of the time in long range

So, I've decided on this list for 500pts, it seems like it could be fun. Reading the Shade rules again, it seems real mean.

For 600, I was thinking about dropping a pair of Orcs, ditching the Horse and getting a Fel Beast, and I managed to find a Cave Troll with a spear. It'll give me a pair of monsters and let the Witch King hop over the front line and stab some deserving archers in the face.

I'd also advise picking up a couple dead marsh specters. Only 15 points, and they only have to get that sweet ability off once on an important model in order to change the nature of the game.

love unrealeased minis, they are great for 1Ring rpg as well as SBG

It’s a pity my only so store is a GW or this would be super tempting!

Most GW employees have no idea the breadth of the SBG model range, with thousands of sculpts, they can't identify them all.

I have definitely fielded non GW minis in my SBG armies at my local Warhammer store.
