The brief first season was good. How many episodes this time?

Just finished it. Pretty great. Apparently a 3rd season is semi confirmed (the voice actor of Trevor said they were starting recording for s3 before s2 actually dropped).

Honestly they could just keep this going with only the dracula and alucard voice actors needing to stay on. They can do time jumps and move forward through the generations of belmonts.

Pretty good. Probably didn’t need to actually be eight episodes. They spent A Lot of time setting everything up.

It was good, but I felt like the season was a bit lop sided. The drama of Dracula's castle and all the messed up heads inside it were infinitely more interesting than watching Alucard and Trevor frienemiship or Trevor's cheesy flirting with Sypha.

Bit too heavy on the padding, it could've been done in half the amount of episodes, wasn't until the sixth episode that we got to see Trevor properly fight again, though the payoff was worth it to see him go up against some nasty monsters by himself.

Good cast of interesting characters though, especially Isaac.

The scene where they assault the castle and a remix of “bloody tears” is playing is orgasm-fuel for castlevania fans.

Liked the prior run despite having played only snatches of one game (I think maybe IV, was on the SNES, early 90's)

I think this season was as good as the first one. Well balanced though not amazing. If you like vampire things you shouldn't be disappointed. Second season expanded very nicely on the first, with both continuing our trio's adventures and introducing more characters.

Overall, its pretty great. I can't think of a videogame that has been adapted better really. Most of the padding here was just inserting all the retcons in so they can naturally tell later stories with the proper setup. I suspect if the first episodes hadn't done well enough to secure season 3, they might have just ended it out with another 4 episode finale.

They set up pretty heavily to do Curse of Darkness. It likely won't be all that similar to the game, I imagine, but lets them get another story out of Trevor and set up mechanics to do the next generation stories.

Yeah, that was pretty spectacular. There's some great fan service throughout the season. There's some great uses of iconic enemies, bosses, and spell effects throughout.
