I absolutely love the Leviadon model, but both time and money keep me from being able to build a full 2000 point army. That said, is there a fun (win as many games as I lose) 1000 point list that includes a Leviadon, or do I need to wander into the 1250 to 2000 point range before I can include one of these amazing models?

Thanks in advance!

I read your title and thought by "fun" you meant "list that isn't too strong for casual play" so that should say a lot. High-point models tend to be stronger in smaller games because the other army often lacks the tools to deal with them readily.

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

You do make a lot of sense. I just love that model and would love to put it in a 1000 point army. Unfortunately, I can't bring it in as an ally in anything less than 1750 points. And, I simply don't have the money or time for that big of any army right now.

depends on your local meta. But I think it would be ok and not hyper competitive to add it in a 1000 pts game. There is worse around. I think it will be hit or miss.

You sure can, A lot of people will bring a single behemoth at 1k, at least locally. I usually bring Olynder starting at that point level, so bring a Leviadon is not bad at all. Just keep in mind your army will be pretty small! I think you can get a single hero (wizard), 2 battleline, the Levidon and one eel guard unit for about 920. Then you can fill out the rest of the points with an endless spell of your choice.

This is also a great core for building out your army. You can get to 2k from here really easily with just a few more kits.
