Subject: Psykers casting powers on themselves

Hey guys, quick question. Can psykers cast powers on themselves if the power states "friendly" units? (for example: Can a Malignant Plaguecaster cast Miasma of Pestilence on itself even though the power states "friendly" death guard units? or does it have to be a unit other than itself?)

A model is always within range of itself, so yes as long as the Psyker has the correct keywords and the power doesn't explicitly forbid it (for example, by saying "other friendly units"), you can use the power on the psyker casting it.

I was also thinking about this question, but I an extended version: if my psyker casts on other friendly unit, does that ALSO include the psyker as well?
In a recent game, my GK Librarian was to cast Gate of Infinity not only on friendly unit, but to include himself. But my opponent says no - only other units. Seems a thin line interpretation to me, but maybe I’m wrong???

For Gate of Infinity, you can cast it on yourself, but you can only target ONE unit.
