Hi all. Just had a brain fart today and thought I would share.

For my kill team I was wanting to keep it all primaris based, but being limited to only bolt weapons was preying on my mind. So I whomped up a primaris scout with a missile launcher to get some more oomph in my list. Based on a reiver with no backpack or additional shoulder pad to make the overall model a bit less chunky and a bit more like a 1w model. Planning on hiding where the pack should be with a camo cloak.

I trimmed down a Guard missile launcher as it's a it more slender and elegant than the Marine one. I also trimmed off the thigh pack on one side to make space for a bolstered pistol and grenades. Quite a fun little build in the end

Thanks Gojira. I thought he needed a friend, so here is a sniper scout joining the ML dude. It appears that that the Carl Gustav is alive and well in the 41st millennium

Again, added some scout sniper optics to the Reiver helmet and trimmed off one of the thigh packs to add the holstered pistol. The scout rifle fits nucely if you don't look too closely at the wrist... I did need to slightly rearrange the left arm but I will stop fiddling with it now as it's good enough a fit I think.

Planning on adding a camo cloak to the sniper rifle guy. I might bundle one up for the missile launcher guy but I think that might make it too busy. I may just rely on an urban camo scheme on him to count as the cloak.

Ah-ha... found my GS

So.filled the helmets to.link the scout optics and obscure the now defaced skull.masks.

And then followed an online guide for doing cloaks. So I rolled.out.some GS and left it to.cure a bit.

And then squished it onto the sniper dude.

I think it's a bit small to be a proper sniper cloak, but I quite like the look of it Planning on adding a hood tonight.

Looks great! Consider that stolen, i think I'm going to do bare heads though. Make them a little more "Scout-ish" at a quick glance.

I thought about bare heads but I have an aversion to having my guys going into.combat without head protection Hence I added the scout optics to make the head suitably different

Automatically Appended Next Post:
And here with hood attached. Again I understand it's not perfect, but I'm pretty happy with it for a 1st attempt

I managed to get a couple of folds in there and I think it's thin enough. If I was to do it again I'd try to get a few more folds and make it look a bit bigger to allow him to wrap it around himself a bit more... but not enough to tear it off and try again!

Another bedtime and another step forward with my new bed ready paint station!

Base coats are now pretty much done on my scout conversions. Next for disruptive patterns on the main armour plates and the cloak. Grey urban for the armour, so black, white and grey. And a green based urban for the cloak. Yet to pick exactly what but grey is also likely to figure prominently

Shoddy pics ahoy

Blacked out the soft bits at the joints and touched up the grey. Also blocked out the main colour for urban camo scheme on the ML guy. Currently at that annoying stage where it's done enough to feel like it should.look better, but not quite done enough to look like the picture I have in my head

Shoddy lighting is shoddy, so hopefully they won't always just look like angry well.armed.cows...

Next up is to get the black pattern over the grey and then to wash the hell.out of it with nuln oil.

Sniper needs the grey pattern done, and then another pattern on his cloak.

Those sure look better than regular old scout models. I also added missile launcher scouts to my team to get some better firepower going on, but I'm looking at your conversions with a bit of envy!

Next couple of layers on the ML guy and the snipers cloak. Adding the mid-grey has made me much happier about the overall effect. Going from the darker grey straight to almost white was too stark a change.

Next up is getting the snipers armour camo sorted then I can wash and maybe do a few highlights.
