sorry if this was covered before, I cant seem to find anything in the brb about this. what are the rules for vehicles targeting units with hull mounted weapons?

specifically my query relates to the primaris repulsor. for example it has 2 side mounted turrets and 1 rear mounted. realistically these can only fire directly to each side and behind. however can these weapons (and every other weapon on this or any vehicle) target the same unit regardless of the orientation of the weapon/vehicle in relation to the target unit.

Weapon Firing Arcs do not exist in 8th. You measure line of sight from one point of the firing model to one point of the enemy model. If you can draw an unbroken line, all weapons can fire at full effectiveness. Range is measured base to base (replacing base with hull if the model doesn't have a base). Whether or not an individual weapon can "see" the enemy is irrelevant in 8th.

Fire arcs are not a thing, unless a Datasheet specifically tells you they are. By default all weapons can fire 360 degrees regardless of mounting.

Facing doesn't matter for (almost) any weapon in 8th edition. You can fire every gun at any unit you want, targeting the same or split-firing.

The almost comes into play with... I think the warlord titan? Whatever it is, it has lascannons that can only be fired from behind. But nothing else on it cares about facing, so you can just point your model backwards and fire at will.

Yeah, Warlord is the only one I can recall. Amazed we haven’t had a 19-page “But what does ‘behind’ mean RAW?” thread at any point in the last year, tbh...
