Hey folks,
so I´m toying with the idea to start a new competitive army. I would like to go for a mobile mechanized theme: Many vehicles, infantry in transport, you name it!
So what are my options?

Competitive armies don't use transports

Deldar have some pretty good transports I think, but that's about it.

Orks maybe viable.
Load up on wagons/trukks, some of the new buggies.
You could probably mech up most of the force but eventually (read: early) you'll have to de-mech and get stuck into combat.

Steel Legion Astra Militarum could be good for you.
If you really want to give yourself a challenge, Militarum Tempestus.

If the truth can destroy it, then it deserves to be destroyed.

Im starting a craftworld army where all troops are either in a Wave Serpent or a Falcon, with a separate outrider detatchment with Vypers/ Wind riders.

It's fun, plays objectives very strong with great shooting. I enjoy it immensely and it plays SO differently to everyone else locally

Strong mechanised army would be Aeldrai soup. Craft World Eldar + Dark Eldar + Harlequins. All three have very strong transports, as well as the units worth being carried inside.

Eldar/Drukhari are probably the most competitive current option for this. Sisters of Battle also tend to use a lot of transports though I wouldn't consider building that army until the plastics come out. Genestealer Cults might be an interesting option as well assuming the rumors that their transport is getting buffed are true.

SOB work as an army for one reason, the Repressor, an OOP Forge World Rhino variant that I would be genuinely shocked if GW had the sense to make into a plastic kit. Once the full SOB list hits without the Repressor and 9th edition ends up making Matched Play Codex Only, there is going to be a tsunami of salty tears.

To make things worse, what they could do is overprice it in the next CA like they did with a lot of other FW units to make it effectively unplayable, meaning you can't salvage it even in index-accepted areas.

Dark eldar, Eldar, or Orks.... thats about it. Marine rhinos are meh at best, land raiders are giant points sinks.... its a sad state. Chimeras are also too expensive for what they do
