Hey everyone I’m hoping to get back into 40k gaming after a long work related vacation from it does anyone know a good gaming group I can join in for playing in San Diego area I contacted the local GW store but of course the owner says unless it’s kill team or a super small game they can’t support 40k players like myself. Sadly it’s not the first time the San Diego branch GW has told me this since on 3 different occasions unless I was playing kill team or underhive I couldn’t get a game in at the store. So like I was saying can anyone let me know a good place to go play or even we can set up a pickup game on the weekends thanks everyone I hope to hear something

Game Empire off of Clairemont should still be around. Won a Blood Bowl game there with Halflings once.... once.
I think Frontline Gaming is also out that way, maybe Mission Valley?

I have a small but active group of around 5 people. We usually game at Game Empire and At Ease Games but we also like going to parks and playing on tables with the occasional bbq. There are 2 40k players and the rest of us mostly do Fantasy 8th edition but are usually also down to hop in to a 40k game. We are all relatively new though. One of our 40k players has played awhile but stopped due to inactivity from his last game group but has been playing with us. The other 40k player played back in 5th, got out of the hobby, and is now back in with full force thanks to our enthusiasm. It’s a casual group and we like having our fun. We usually meet up at least once a week. If interested in trying out our group feel free to pm me. We usually play weekends.

I don't much like game empire only cause the people there are not friendly and don't really welcome people into the meta. I have tried a few times to go there and start a friendly pick up game but unless you part of there group and try out to play with them they won't let you join since I can only play a few days a month I was told coming there wouldn't be a good idea and I should go someplace else considering there are 3 stores in all of SD to play in that one was quickly crossed off my list the store itself is amazing huge selection and a reward system for consistent customers so it will be my main store for purchasing new products but the 40k players there ruin the rest of it.

San Diego

Well you are in luck! San Diego hosts one of the largest 40k leagues in the country. Currently the league has 72 people in it, separated into 8 man pods. Look up "AT EASE Games Warhammer 40k" on Facebook to see what the league is about. It is the same league that Reece talks about on his "Signals from the Frontline" Twitch stream. You can also find plenty of people to play games against.
