Pretty good!

I think this might be my favorite version of the Jungle Books. It doesn't have the music of the Disney ones shoe horned in. It's brutal, the animals look good, Mowglis story is well told. Over all pretty great. The final confrontation with Shere Kahn is more personal then it's been in other versions. I say give it a go.

I thought it was pretty decent. It started as an animal movie for my kids, luckily they lost interest before it got serious, but I finished watching it and didn't think it was bad at all.

It was good, and it was raw! Having Baloo not be so happy go lucky was kind of a shock, and no King Louis! Damn good version of it. Pretty pleased.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Did they actually bother to make Kaa Mowgli's mentor in this one?

Sort of? Kaa is some kind of horrifying prophet. The narration is mostly done by Kaa and she talks about how she can see the future and the past. When others see Kaa they all either run in fear or cover their eyes and when Mowgli meets her she tells him things and shows him things because he looks her in the eyes.

It's a the future is unknown kind of prophecy. These vague things will happen but under what circumstance and to what end?
