We know he is most likely a Stormcast Eternal but they have all had their memories wiped or so it seems, will they return Gotrek's faithful companion in Age of Sigmar.?.

Anything is possible - nothing is impossible. Depends if they even keep Gotrek around in the long term too.

I think the end game for Gotrek will be him ascending to Godhood.

Probably as an Eternal. What better way to win people over than have one of the best characters from the Old World followed around by the new mascot.

I’d prefer he stays dead. Let the Mortal Realms have their own heroes, rather than trawl up more characters from the World That Was.

The dynamic between the Khainite in the Order of Azyr that he is questing with at present has been fun. She can offer a slew of interesting dialogue, world building due to exposition from her perspective and some great plot points given her very different personality from Gotrek. .

But if they do bring him back, I think as a Knight-Questor would probably be the best bet, and the easiest excuse to go a-questing with Gotrek.

Nah bring him back as undead. Not like a powerful lich or wight king, but some random chainrasp floating around that they kill with a backhand and are only told three novels later 'oh yeah, that was Felix.'

I'm sure fans would take it well.

Whatever happened to Felix, Gotrek need's the closure of knowing what happened to his favourite manling and considering Felix no longer has an oath to Gotrek it would be a totally different dynamic to their adventures were they to bring Felix back.

Would be a fun concept but have any Stormcast Eternals been able to regain or keep their memory's from before ?.

Never mind Felix. We need Ulrika back.

One of the most interesting characters they developed (especially in her own trilogy) deserved far more than 'and then Felix made her ded and was a bit sad for a bit because he had to make her ded'

Stormcast keep their memories on being first transformed. It is when they die and are revived that the begin losing memories and personality.

It happened in the End Times. Grimnir gave him some of his power then was forgotten by writers.

Freshly forged Stormcast (for it is an ongoing process) don't entirely recall their life. And it's not a consistent level of memory loss.

Some remember names and places, others conversations and emotions etc. Some remember nothing at all, beyond the vaguest 'de ja vu' type experiences.

Sounds promising that Felix would regain part of his memories considering he likely wouldn't die as a stromcast eternal due to his already formidable skill in combat.

Sigmar is not unique in being able to forge Stormcast. In fact most of the gods and those of godly power are messing around with it to various levels.

Seraphon, Undead, Stormcast, Aelves - they are all mucking around bringing back old souls and moulding them into new bodies; with various levels of success.

Seraphon seem to have the edge, Stormcast are doing very well and have a bonus in that they can recapture and reforge over and over so in theory their numbers will never diminish and should only grow. Aelves are all over the place, however they seem to favour the new souls being less recreations of the past and more rebirths with far less to no memory retention (then again we only have Idoneth who fled from their God and thus only have new numbers now from their own birthing - ergo fresh/damaged souls; and Daughters of Khaine where Morathi's own personal interests would likely have her working to damage any memory retention of souls she reforges so that they are easier to control).

So on that score Felix could return, but not necessarily as a Stormcast. There are many gods who could work the same magics and bring him back in a different form. Perhaps as a regular human rather than an Eternal.

The Aelf gods only work with Aelf souls taken from Slaanesh, the Seraphon are something different entirely; celestial daemons that presumably don't have souls or don't have them in the same way. Afaik there is no instance of a soul being brought back to life as a normal person. The options for Felix are limited to Stormcast, dead, or undead, unless they introduce new fluff.

Far as I can tell Seraphon do have souls and are not so much demonic - there's also (I think in Maligan Portents) a view that they could even be projections of creatures entombed within a vast structure that floats through space. I also seem to recall that at least one Slaan has put Lizardmen on the world and they've started to breed and repopulate (I think or its a pipe dream wished by many so that they have some lands and settlements and are not just wished into being by giant toads).

Thing is whilst each group is working with its own setup, there is clearly ample reason to suppose that there is more than one way to work with a soul. Heck the fact that the Idoneth "failed" and ran away and another "high elf" backed group of soul-forged aelves is coming suggests that there is ample room within the fluff for other approaches.

Even Sigmar might have alternate approaches - eg might be that Stormcast are how they are because of the potential to allow for reforging over and over; whilst Felix could be brought back without that boon, yet having the bonus that he retains more of his memories and personality.

Honestly I feel the trick is that GW either bring him back nearly the same in character or let him die. I think to bring him back significantly changed would be a risk. Of course the relationship between the two would be different ,but even in the very early books Felix makes the point several times that his bond to Gotrik is more than just the vow he made to chronicle his death.

They have giant space ships with contain world spheres--essentially a contained jumble biome where they live between battles. There may be a ret-con but what we have right now is that Slaan are 'recalling' the same lizardmen but that recalling is not simply a 'poof, here they are' but rather involves bringing them forth from spawning pools the same as they once were. The summoning that takes place on the battlefield is not them being conjured into existence but rather them being teleported down from the starships. As of now they are still daemons, just not chaos daemons, but again they may ret-con this. When a Seraphon is cut open there is no blood or organs inside; just celestial energies. Also note they have the daemon keyword.

But the Core Book lacked detail on deeper Seraphon fluff and the short story seemed to present something a bit different than what was implied before, so I am unsure if they are full ret-conning or just providing more background that was admittedly vague from the start.

To elaborate; GW did a poor job of communicating the nature of Seraphon early on. It was never the case that the Slaan simply showed up, remembered a bunch of dudes into existence, and dismissed them when he left. They still had the ships where they went between battles (we had little to no detail as to what was on them) and when a Seraphon died the Slaan did not simply re-remember a new copy; the Slaan remembers everything that individual went through before being killed and so the new version is essentially a revived individual. But to discover that nuance required a detailed reading of the Seraphon battletome and reading the Pestilens novel (which is the best novel for one wanting an AoS story with Seraphon as well as for Pestilens fans).

But again, that is where we are at now and there is circumstancial evidence that GW is ret-conning that into something a bit different.

I thought there was fluff somewhere related to Shadespire (or maybe Hammerhal fluff in WQ??) that dealt with Seraphon sticking around after when they would normally go back, and essentially living as normal living beings?

I think it would be interesting if Gotrek finds him somewhere random (on a city corner as a beggar or something), bereft of most of his memories. Gotrek rescues him and drags him along and in a twist becomes the one with a personality for awhile as Felix slowly regains his memories.

Pestilens is a fantastic story!
I also found that for a story that has itself build around a battle and very little "downtime" as such between fights, it managed to develop the characters really well. Some of the earlier Realmgate battle stories I feel suffer from being so heavily focused on the battles that the characters lose some personality and become harder to relate to as a character and it feels more like a battle log. Which to be fair is what most of them are trying to achieve, but it has the duel effect of losing connection to characters. Pestilens establishes the characters in its story really well and certainly left me wanting a lot more

Pestilens is one of my favorites for sheer quality, but the Kharadron one takes the cake IMO. The representation of the fluff and the nuances is perfect. It has the best portrayal of Tzeentch mortals I have ever seen.

I've yet to read that one, got kind of distracted reading up on Gotrek because I want to hear Realmslayer but don't want to until I've caught up on all his past. Thankfully the collected editions that BL is steadily releasing are doing a good job of providing it in nice bite-sized chunks of stories.

Must say that I think the early AoS lore suffered a bit here and there; however the new Novellas are great and I'm looking forward to the new Chaos themed book coming in the new year.

TBH I regard the endgames Gotrekand Felix series as non-canon. They were a mess and really s&@t all over the characters and their histories.
