Been wanting to do this for a while, used to struggle to get a rounded force in 2k. Chapter approved changed all that with everything except our troops dropping in cost, 2k feels like the perfect size for a Battalion now. So here is my first stab:

HQ
Lord of Change: Impossible robes
Change caster
Flux master
Demon Prince of Tzeentch: warlord with daemon spark

Troops
2 * 30 Pink horrors
4 * 10 Brimstone horrors

Elites
3 * Exaulted Flamers

Fast Attack
2 * 5 Furies
3 Screamers

Heavy Support
3 * Burning Chariots

1844 points, so plenty of points to split the bit units of pinks and keep them about 20. obviously will use for summoning if my opponent is not focusing on them.

Battle plan will be a hammer and anvil type approach with a mobile firebase formed around the demon prince (pinks, exalted flamers and a change caster). Lord of Change, Burning Chariots and Flux Master will form the hammer and look to flank aggressively.

Brimstones, furies and screamers will screen, claim objectives and generally be annoying.

Never going to be top tier competitive, but definitely feels more viable now. Still tempted to split to two battalions in order to swap out the furies/screamers for some regular flamers (to deep strike) but not sure its worth the hit to command points.

Any thoughts?

Kairos fateweaver is only 15 pts. more than the lord of change, and he is worth it. Why not add some tsons units like ahriman, tsons daemon price of tzeentch ?

Thanks for the thoughts.

My big problem with Kairos is survivability, without access to impossible robes it's only got a 4++ to hide behind which usually means swift death.

Not convinced what the 1k sons units really add much, sure the demon prince is better, but not really worth losing the (admittedly not very good) locus ability for the sake of an extra cast a turn.

The impossible robe has a 4++. It gives you a single re-roll for a save per game. Thats it. How would this help kairos with survivability ?

Combined with Ephemeral Form it gives a 3++, so a LoC with it on average takes 48 damage worth of wounding its to take down, compared to only 32 for Kairos (or a LoC without it). It makes a massive difference in survivability.
