Not sure where else to put this so move it if necessary. I placed an order over a month ago with Fallout for some masking and some LED parts. I never received an order confirmation from them but did receive my PayPal receipt. I contacted Ron on the 9th of December and he told me it would be one or two days. Here we are end of month and I still have not received anything nor are they responding to emails. I can understand the holiday season putting smaller businesses behind but several weeks to receive something that is standard from them with no response has me a little worried. Anyone else have better luck with these guys? Of note I did not order any special masks that require 6 weeks.

Not sure whether this actually helps you but I did take part in their kickstarter campaign in 2015. Received everything as promised. So from my point of view they were/are legit and already around for quite some time... but I don't have any experience with their shop.

I would recommend to get in touch with them once again in the new year...

But sorry to hear about your problem.

I bought some of their airbrush stencils, came in without issue and worked great. I'd keep trying to get a hold of them.

Keep trying, but if your paypal dispute window is close to expiring then file a dispute if you don't hear anything back. It's understandable to have some communication loss over the Christmas period, but a whole month without any notification is worrying.

You can always make it clear in the dispute with them that you will re-order after claiming. It might still cost them from paypal for being in dispute, but at the very least it gives you a chance to ensure you've got that option open again.

Note I seem to recall someone somewhere sayingthat PP were giving 2 months dispute time now, but I've not had to file any disputes so am not best aware of the current practice so check up on that before taking any action.
Also do contact and mention in email to them before you file a dispute (several days before). Give them fair warning what your intentions are even if its just to file and get your money back and then re-order so that you have a fresh dispute window.

I've ordered from him several times no issues. I know there's been some delays with him moving but I though that was done months ago.

If you have a Facebook account try messaging him there, he keeps his page up to date and posts a few times a month.

I place an order in September for some decals, Ron stopped responding to me start of December and I've had to raise a paypal dispute. Such a shame as I really want those decals, and I had made an order a year or two back which was fulfilled without issue.

I've ordered from Fallout a few times before without issue and thought they were legit.

I ordered some custom decals on November 3rd. I haven't heard a word since November 7th or so (and we left it with an open technical question about the art). These have a few weeks lead time so I waited a while, but no response when I checked in on Dec 5th or so. I emailed twice more, no response since November 7th (and again, it wasn't clear he was working on it since then, or else I would have been happy to wait).

I opened up a chargeback with my credit card a few days ago since I was coming up on the 60 day window.

I found a different vendor for custom waterslide decals and sent them the work, I'll post here how that came out as an alternative once they're in hand. It's not Fighting Piranha, someone else.

Sad to see a thread here for this. I was planning to start one myself in a few days; but was hoping it wouldn't come that. I'm always hesitant to post for small proprietors like that since this site gets a lot of traffic and it's a pretty small community. Still, once they stop responding to emails, you have little choice.

They are "legit", but their logistics and organization leaves a lot to be desired. My last custom order took six months of dozens of unresponded to emails to get.

I found that reaching out to them via Facebook Messenger worked better than email.

I placed an order on December 8th for a single custom transfer sheet, and the last email i have from Ron was on the 14th. I've sent a few emails since then but it's been radio silence. Debating on asking for a refund as well.

I understand that it takes a while, and I'm willing to wait, to make the custom stencils and transfer sheets - but it only takes 5 minutes to reply to an email even just to say that you're still alive.

My PayPal dispute has lead to a shipping notification this morning, including tracking number. Fingers crossed I'll now get the goods. But three months to print and ship a couple of decal sheets seems excessive.

Well the USPS tracking number still shows no information, and today paypal have notified me that they are issuing a refund as Fallout hobbies have failed to respond to the dispute.

Such a pain, now to try to find somebody else to make the decals for me.

On November 30, I ordered a sheet of Raptors decals to supplement my dwindling supply from the old FW sheet.

I saw this thread about a week and a half ago and I was getting ready to raise a PayPal dispute and then they showed up last week. Even better, they sent me two sets of sheets (so four decal sheets) instead of just the one I ordered, free of charge!

I ordered a couple sets of their clear resin LED covers, against the better judgment of this thread. We'll see how it goes.

I ordered the hammerhead conversion kit on Black Friday. I asked about the order on Jan 15th, and received a prompt response that it would be in the mail that day. All they have done is make the label.

My guess is they are having money issues and can't meet their obligations. And are taking new orders to weather the storm, but still can't do anything but flail about. Regardless of weather I receive my kit, I won't be ordering from them again.

Capital One refunded my money and closed my chargeback as successful.

I ordered from them a while ago and got everything promptly. Good quality.

The only negative I would give is the vinyl stencils are more like "paper" than vinyl. There is some give in them but they are more paper like than the stretchy vinyl I've handled elsewhere.

This means they are fairly delicate. This limits the number of uses of the stencils before they are damaged and torn.

If there is anything I would change would be to go to a thicker real flexible vinyl stencil that has a longer life and more stretch.

Would I order again? Not finding anything like them elsewhere, yes. But I consider them an expensive consumable.

Eh, kidney stones are no joke, but equally they're not likely to keep someone out of action for over a month (time frame since the thread was opened) either.

Certainly if they can update that to social media then they were in a position to make a bigger (and more prompt) announcement too if it has had complications making it more long term.

I saw plenty of promotional updates and such go out in the 2 months between when I placed the order on Nov 3rd and when I did a chargeback on Dec 30th. Weird that he could find the time to do that but not answer multiple emails. People will be happy to wait if you explain you're having a problem, but pure radio silence really irritates them.

Anyway I do hope it gets back on track because he does have stuff not easily found elsewhere. I had done multiple orders with them previously without a problem.

Quick update, my order of LED covers arrived yesterday, so a little short of a month from order to delivery.

I ordered two types of the covers and they included a decent smattering of a third type as well, so kudos to them for that!

I have to add that I've had a bad experience with Fallout Hobbies. I've been waiting for months and though they have responded to all of my emails they have given my empty promises about deliveries that have fallen through. It's probably too long for me to file a dispute via Paypal now. I didn't want to have to look for another custom decal service but it seems like I have no choice.

1.) You have like 6 months now with Paypal, so don't assume without checking! Even if the window has technically closed, if the business in question is having a lot of complaints like this, they might take care of you anyway. You don't know unless you ask, and the worst-case situation is you wind up exactly where you already are now.

2.) i got some decals done up from Bedlam Creations, https://www.bedlamcreations.com. I would say I had a mixed experience with their product. Their service was great, the communication was great, and they provided proof sheets before sending. He actually reworked my sheet to essentially double the decals I got. On the other hand, some of the decals just.... weren't that great. But some were! Like for example, anything that was script or text looked great, perfect, at all sizes - look how clean that script is. But the art looked... really fuzzy around the edges, raggedy. Is that innate to ALPS printers? I don't know. Was that caused by my resizing of the art? I don't know. Was it caused by his further resizing of the art? I don't know.

I was going to ask about this before I put in a second order, but if the art you need is script / text / numbering, that kind of stuff, then I can I can unreservedly recommend them. If it's actual art, then I would ask about that before ordering.

This afternoon, I ran off some decals on decal paper for laser printers. I've done this before years ago with an inkjet printer and the results were passable. I guess the future is now, because the paper I used I ran through my job's color laser printer, and the quality was superb - not as good as mass produced decal sheets, but fairly close, honestly. Obviously this is going to vary depending on how good of a printer you have access to, and how good your source art is, but if you have access, you can get terrific results that way (and Staples or print shops are always an option if you don't have access). Also, with the laser printer paper - no post-print steps! With the inkjet paper I used to have to give it a few coats of gloss spraypaint, but with the laser paper, just print, and ready to use.

Anyway sorry to keep digging into this but there are definitely options for decal printing, which is the thing I wanted the most from Fallout.
