I noticed that we set a new users online number on the 24th with 93k users online. That's awesome but then it made me think just how many of those were really DAKKAs finest, and how many were spam or fake users and such. Is there any stats or a ball park? I'm just curious since bots are all the rage these days

I myself was wondering the other day whether bots and web crawlers count towards number of views on a thread. My B5 log has gotten over 5k views and that seems... excessive.

And looking right now, there's 17k online....and 441 are registered. I'm sure not ALL the 17k are fake but I do wonder how many are

We do tend to get a lot of anonymous lurkers and people passing through certain parts of the forums without ever signing up or logging in, preferring to simply read the latest updates and posts without interacting.

There are spammers and ad-posting "visitors" from time to time, but nowhere near as many as one might think, or as bad as it was in the past.

Comes with being the best™ wargaming forum out there.

I imagine now that Google has to redirect image searches directly to the website they were posted on, Dakka has has a decent influx of new viewers.
