So my brothers Xbox 360 controller is having issues and we've tried it on his and my bluetooth computers and neither can detect the controller. I'm not sure what is up the controller came pretty bare bones and there don't even seem to be drivers for windows 8.1 anywhere around; however I would have thought the bluetooth should at least detect it without drivers being installed.

Googling isn't giving my any realistic help. Has anyone had any issues with theirs or found any solutions?

So far its just a case of put the batteries in the controller and turn it on then press the seeking button on the front so that the green lights spin in a circle, but nothing appears able to pick it up.

Does it connect to the Xbox OK? Is this a new device that you've never got working, or did it work OK before and has just had the problem recently?

If you're trying to connect it to a PC you need the USB wireless receiver (eg http://amzn.eu/d/ic0c7Jl), it won't just go through the PCs Bluetooth as far as I know...

Ahh darn MS and their propitiatory ideas with connectors!

I think the bluetooth bits I was picking up on were from the Xbox1 pages possibly.

Well more cost but at least that is one mystery solved - thanks Crispy

You're welcome! The office is quiet today, so I'll do tech support on here instead eh?
