Theres just a charm to the firstborn that the Primaris lack imo and you made these here really pop.

Thanks, I think you’re right about their charm, but some of the latest Primaris stuff is cool too.

Thanks Tommy
ShadowsAndDust wrote:I believe they are the Void Panthers.

Thanks ShadowsAndDust, you’re correct, they are Void Panthers, my own custom chapter

I’m happy to report that the 3rd squad of Tactical Marines for my Void Panthers is complete

The rest of the squad also came out to play

So that sees me 1 Devastator squad away from a full Demi-Company so they’ll be my next Panthers project I think. With that I placed the Tactical Marines on the display board

I quite like the top down shots so took a few more
tac Squad 2

Fast Attack support

Air Support

Assault Marines

tac squad 1 and Leadership

Plus a few low down shots

I now realise that I forgot the sergeants black stripe on his helmet

And an oldie from tac squad 2 as I love this guys positioning

I have also started another project, some test schemes for a future Orcs & Goblins scheme, but no pics just yet

Thanks for looking

What amazing group shots, thank you for posting so many! The work is excellent, the board a great display piece and the photography top notch.

(Tongue firmly in cheek) I must admit though, the unit blazons make me hear "Thunder, THUNDER! Thun'nercats- HO!!!!"

Really good work and very enjoyable to scroll through and see.

Thanks! I get a bit carried away with all of the pics, hopefully it didn’t rinse through anyone’s mobile data!
I might also think similarly every so often with the thundercats! Speaking of thundercats, did anyone see the reboot? It was really good!

Cheers, Plenty more where they came from!

Indeed, here’s the next batch now that I’ve stupidly decided to paint the whole Devastator squad in one go! Doing so has highlighted a few that are missing things like purity seals, so I need to fix that.

Seeing some paint on it, the converted multimelta looks pretty good imho. The back pack is a bit weedy, but I can live with it. Some of the Bolter marines are a bit caked up with paint but I’ll crack on anyway and hopefully they won’t look too nasty once completed.

Separately I’ve put together a scout squad. I wasn’t planning on adding them to my army, but I bid 99p on 3 bodies and won. Together with the random bits I’ve collected over the past couple of years I managed to put together a squad of 5. No idea whether their load out is legal or not so if anyone knows please comment

I think they’re from a bunch of kits, but the sergeant is the most interesting one. I think his legs and torso are from the Land Speeder Storm. His pose was kind of similar to someone running, so I cut his legs off at the groin so I could rotate his but and get his torso more upright. I used a good bit of sprue goo to hide the cuts and it worked pretty nicely. The tabard helped too! . His head is actually from one of the Space Marine Heroes series 2 Terminators, I think it works quite well even if it is slightly bigger than the normal scout head! The back of his head had its leg hole filled and reshaped with more sprue goo as well. The others were just using whatever bits seemed to work. I have 4 more torsos so I might pick up a few bits to build another squad if the right deal comes around.

Thanks for looking

Thanks, I think I’m getting them to the stage where I can rattle them out pretty quickly (for me) now as well as looking better than the originals.
Not Online!!! wrote:Very great work gobert!

Thanks NotOnline!!!

I did a little side quest the other week and put a test scheme together for some Orcs & Goblins based loosely on goobertowns night goblin scheme. The yellow was airbrushed and turned out quite nice, then most of the rest was speed paints and metallics.

I think for the gobbos I want some greater contrast on the yellow and have it cover proportionally more areas. The purple contrast is also way too dark (and the dark pic makes it even harder to see. The eM4 minis are pretty simple but they took the scheme well as a proof of concept.

Elsewhere the Devastators are making steady progress, having had their colours blocked back in after washes and the weapons even had their first highlight.

There’s also been a change of plan in the lay out of the Company. The Bolter guys will only be temporary Devastators. I seem to have lost one of the missile launcher backpacks while priming so went on eBay and ended up buying a bunch of Devastators for a really good price, almost enough to make a complete squad for each weapon load out. Frustratingly 1 of the Missile Launcher backpacks was missing. So I’m now on the hunt for another squad with a Missile Launcher, Lascannon and a couple of Grav Cannons to complete the set. For now the Bolter dudes will fill out the Dev squad before switching to be Tacticals in the future.

I also looked at how many points of Panthers I have and it seems I have 6500 points worth, though it seems those are 9th Ed points as I have switched my BattleScribe roster.

Thanks for looking

Didn’t see you sneak a post in there Cap! Thanks, I do like an action shot it’s true. At some point I’m going to need to expand my boards to accommodate all of these Panthers too. Best crank up that 3d printer!
