I see a lot of talk about AMs cp generation, but do not play any AM players. Having a read of the codex, is this done through using the Kurov's Aquila? And do they run two of them?

Does the use of an enemy stratagem also count as the re-roll of a dice using CP?

You can only take Kurov's Aquilla once. But you can also take Grand Strategist. And yes, this is how their CP generation works. Though it's been severely limited in the Big FAQ.

Command Re-roll is a stratagem, so if the opponent uses it then yes it counts.

Yes in part. They run the Aquila and the strategist so they can generate off both sides. Yes it includes the reroll.

It is also because AM is so cheap you can get a battalion for extremely low points plus CP generation from warlord/relic.

At this point its mostly that you can pay 180 points for an extremely useful battalion that gives 5cp.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

In the past you'd also combine it with the Blood Angel relic that does a similar job. However now CP regen is limited it's better to just take the Aquila and multiple battalions

There are two parts to this.

First, CP generation is the amount of CP you can generate from your army list.

CP regeneration is what you can gain throughout a match.

Guard have the cheapest, most capable battalion that brings durability, flexibility, screening, backfield obsec, and board control on top of generating 5 CP for your army.

They also have Kurov's Aquila and Grand Strategist, which together ensure you regen 6 CP over the course of a 6 round game.

So that one Guard Battalion brings an effective 11 CP for 180 points or so.
