So I might add a c'tan to my necron army. It will likely be a transcendent c'tan. Now, metal brothers, how worthy are they and what are some good options?

The fractured personality bit is a torture for players. I'd sure like that d3 regen per turn, but damn that 12" advance is soooo sweet. Having to choose one or roll twice and risk geting neither (a word that orks due to their reproductive strategy wouldn't have, know, use or understand.)

I also want non necron players opinions on their experience with c'tan. Were they a powerhouse or a pushover? Have you killed them easily or gotten your ass handed to you by them? So I ask outside the Necron threw to get non necron views.

I think they are a very good option to have at your disposal but not integral to an all-comers list. Worth taking against Custodes, Chaos Demons and anything else with a lot of elite units and invul saves. I prefer the Nighbringer to either of the other two and he's the cheapest

They cover a few niches that we don't have other solutions for:

They can charge flyers (and wreck them in short order too).
They give us our version of smite etc.
They're a solid combat unit that will give enemy melee units pause for thought.

I'm with Cynista in that I think the Nightbringer is a steal at 180. Throw him up the field behind a unit of wraiths and he'll almost always make his points back.

I've run a transcendent ctan a couple times before ca. Was worth it every time. Though i played aggressive mellee crons. Ctan is best there. But with a point reduction you might want to run a noghtbringer more often even in regular lists.

I like the idea of Nightbringer with a unit of Wraiths so add some serious to their melee potential while they screen it from shooting.
