Can I go for 30k, as I have been reading the Horus Heresy series? Argal Tal, Kharn and Sevatar are all intersting. Aoenid Thiel and Alexis Pollux for the loyalists.

From modern 40k, without a doubt it is pre-Red Corsairs Lugft Huron. Second place, despite the lack of info, is Malakim Phoros.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

I, Cato Sicar...

...Ok, let's go with Cain/Vail

I suppose Tarkus from DoW and SM protagonist should get a shout out too. Though pity they didn't say it was Sicarius, same company too and s-storm would have been glorious

An erudite psycopath constantly knocking on death's door.

For lulz, has to be Trazyn.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

My favourite character is the Ork Race. Really, there's no specific Ork character that I like more than others. Just the Ork Race.

After that... Trazyn is the Necron with the collection, right?

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

I might have to go with Shas'O Vior'la Shovah Kais Mont'yr, also known as Commander Farsight. He actually managed to defy the will of the T'au Ethereals, something very few other T'au have ever done as successfully as him.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

I gotta say Yriel for me, although Asmodai comes close.
Dude on the FB DA group cracked me up when responding to another poster stating after reading about his exploits how much of a *ick he is, "yeah, but he's our *ick". Awesome.

Kyr Vhalen. He's an inspiration to loyalist Iron Warriors everywhere.

The Tyche's Lament, reeling and shrouded in a molten cloud of burning debris from its forequarters, began to turn under its own power. It had expected no battle, its gun ports closed and its weapon capacitors empty when the treacherous foe had struck the mighty battleship, but even without its own shields fully powered, it had been far from defenceless. Meter upon meter of ablative armour plating added to the hulking warship by her bitter-hearted master had been splashed into jetting plasma by the fusion torpedo strikes, but the armoured core beneath it, fashioned in the forges of the Olympia shipywards, had been built to withstand worse, and that had barely been scorched. The colossal engines of the Iron Warriors battleship roared into sun-white fury and the Tyche's Lament leapt forward with brutal acceleration, its tortured superstructure screaming in protest at those onboard.

Extant records show that though his ship's targeting auspexes had been blinded and the bridge flamed about him, it was Warsmith Kyr Vhalen himself who threw aside his steersman and triggered the main drives at maximum power, shouting black and profane oaths aloud as the seven kilometer long warship hurtled like a burning spear at the Anax-Rho. Locked into firing solutions against the planet and the wounded escorts, the Anax-Rho could not recover itself in the short moments that the Tyche's Lament devoured the distance between the two huge warships, and when its own main drives triggered to manoeuvre, it was already too late. The blunt bladed prow of the Tyche's Lament struck the Anax-Rho amidships from directly below, shattering its voidshields and smashing it aside in a storm of broken debris and venting atmosphere. The heavy assault cruiser - itself forged to endure terrible damage had survived the devastating impact - barely, but now spun all but out of control, its own engine-thrust carrying it out of orbit in order to escape the scarred monster which was already beginning to turn again for another attack run.

TLDR: Iron Warriors Warsmith stationed in buttfuck nowhere on garrison duty who had no idea that the Horus Heresy had begun or that his legionaries decided to go turncoat. He showed up for a regularly scheduled supply run on a Mechanicus depot world right smack dab in the middle of an Alpha Legion attack and managed to royally feth everything up for them. After that he and his fellows fought throughout the Heresy as loyalist Blackshields.
