This came up on the Ork facebook group. The poster pointed out that the terrain feature rule doesn't specify that the model can't be deployed from reserves. The conclusion was that you could drop the Mekboy Workshop from the Telloporta stratagem to get it placed somewhere other than your deployment zone(where Ork vehicles are rarely, if ever present).

What does DakkaDakka think? Could this be done?

It's also brought up a second question. This model is unique in that it basically has three walls and an open space. Is there a rule stating you can or cannot deploy it around an objective? There's another train of though of deploying it around an objective and staffing it with some grots or kommandos.

Once you bring in Fortifications you're forced to make stuff up as you go along anyway, since the rules are utterly lacking.

Yes, you can technically tellyporta in a Mekboy Workshop, there is no restriction on the workshop itself as to where it can be placed. It can't capture objectives though, as per the Rulebook FAQ.

Seems like something an Ork would try.

I'd let it happen, sounds awesome.
