Hi, motivated by the crazyness in this thread:

Could I use the Deceiver to redeploy a Necron Tomb Citadel? Or some other suitable terrain feature? Just plant it over two objective markers in the center and let necron infantry get on board to have protection and be within 24" range.

Does it have a datasheet? If so, does it have the requisite keywords for the ability? If so, does it have any rule that prevents it being chosen or moved?

The first two are simple yes. The third is a simple dunno, further muddled by the slight absurdity of it.

Doesn't matter if it's absurd or not. Sounds like it probably does work, but it's a bit pointless if we aren't looking at the datasheet.

'Grand Illusion' only works friendly NECRONS units, so that immediately disqualifies its use on most terrain. You must also set the unit(s) up again more than 12" from any enemy model. Since the Tomb Citadel is an entire Realm of Battle tile (2'x2') and there's no permission to move other scenery the chances of moving one are slim.

Yes, the "TOMB CITADEL" does have the "NECRONS" keyword.

BUT it also has "Immobile: This model cannot move for any reason..." as one of it's abilities.

So, once it has been placed, it is not able to be moved at all, even through a re-deploy that the Deceiver does.

Strewth. Is this the new “can bunkers Scout?”

There we go! I am relieved this doesn't work, truth be told.

Was there ever an answer to this?

I can see it going either way. Either "move" refers to physically moving the model, or "move" refer to moving (such as movement phase, charge phase, etc) in the context of the game.

I think there's also the practical consideration: you pick up a heavy 2x2' resin RoB tile and start moving it about it probably won't end well for any models nearby.

So, since we seem to have sorted that out, moving on.
