I have a bunch of armor for my GSC cult (brood brothers) and was thinking of using it for a full 2k AM list. All the vehicles have GSC markings (Hammer of Cadia box from years back ) and the infantry are all GSC heads and gear
Battalion + 5CP
Regiment: Catachan
Company Commander (Warlord + Command point region relic)
Lord Commisar
Master of ordinace (tried to fit tracks on all hellhounds but could not squeeze, went with this guy instead to buff basilisk and give a barrage)
3 X 10 Infantry + Mortar
Hellhound IC + HB
Basilisk
Basilisk
Spearhead +1 CP
Regiment: Catachan
Tank Commander + Punisher + 3xHB
Hellhound IC + HB
Hellhound IC + HB
LRBT BC + 3x HB
LRBT BC + 3x HB
LRBT BC + 3x HB
Super Heavy Auxiliary
Regiment: Catachan
Hellhammer 2XLC 4XHF
9 CP total
Holding objectives:Tank Commander/LRBTs/Infantry are all Objective secure.
Shooting: All need 4+ Lots of random D6 shots with all tanks and artillery being able to reroll 1 dice and most will be able to reroll 1s to hit (via master of ordinance or orders/Tank orders)
CC: The Hellhammer. Nothing for close combat but the Hellhammer + stratagem = 9 S9 AP -2 W D3 hitting on 2s (stratagem). Think could be used to finish off wounded Knights or other vehicles
Strategy: Early turns stay turtled as far away from opponents units, use the hellhounds, hellhammer and infantry to block (as best as possible) deep strikes/assaults (assaulting flamer with rerolls is no fun) soften opponent up with barrage(s), mortars, basilisk, and LRBTs. Then take later turns to get LRBTs across table to take objectives. Using infantry to hold objectives on my side.
Pros: Simple to play, low model count, lots of range, indirect fire, opponent must be tooled to deal with tanks to be affective (meta may work in favor)
Cons: little board control, not much mobility, if a list can deal with knights most likely can deal with this list
