Pretty straight forward general idea to get the Stealers in my opponents face to apply pressure, use the Hive guard to be active in the shooting phase and then use the kronos warlord trait to shut down my opponents physcic phase. The real question is whether or not I should try and fit in a tyrnafex somewhere to get acid spray to shut down any hard to hit units.

Why not go for the Devourers on the Flyrant? Just wondering since you already have a decent melee base.

My reasoning was that the Rending Claws were free, so it saved me the points to fit all 6 Hive guard and keep my Stealers at near enough max squads. Hopefully the ability of the Flyrant to offer another mobile threat range will really keep armies boxed in and make it difficult for them to play the objectives. Only my thoughts so far though

one MRC is good, but 2 is pointless. Drop 2 stealers and get him one set of devourers.

By swapping my Flyrant out for a Tyrant without wings, I can arm him with the relic cannon than ignore invulnerable saves. Drop 2 stealers from a unit and plug in 10x Hgaunts to be another bit of horde. I don't see many Tyrants without wings, but to hold the back field and have a weapon that will deal with Wraithes and other hard to kill invulns might be a good idea?

Well, I could be wrong, but I think the bypass Inv cannon is Kronos specific. But I'd put guns on my Fly'rant along with MRC. The flexability is just too good to leave out. And as Kraken she can "fall back", shoot (fly) and charge (Kraken) that is a lot in one package! And a Smite, and a Power evry turn.

The will of the hive is always the same: HUNGER

Yeah Kronos is my 2nd battalion. The Kraken battalion includes the boordlord & swarmlord. Maybe an idea to swap one of them out for the Flyrant? So many options, is what makes the game hreat

Out of interest, how would you model the Devs as they aren't standard parts and I can't think of them coming with any model in the range
Scratch that, forgeworld....

I used the carnifex Devourers for my flyrant. Have to cut some bits and glue two together but it works and is the right size.

Be careful about swapping the Flyrant to get the relic.

If you swap the Swarmlord to a different detachment his movement ability will not be able to affect the Genestealers of a different hive fleet. Also bare in mind that if you swap out the Broodlord for the Hive Tyrant the BL's synapse will not affect the Genestealers, and neither will their Brood Telepathy rerolls.

It's probably best to keep the Flyrant where they are, I agree that 1 set of devourers is a good idea. Or equip them with the Maw of Mal if you want a more heavy hitting shooty on them.

I like rolling lots of dice.

Going to echo the sentiment that a set of devourers help with the Tyrants flexibility. 12 shots at str 6 is just really nice to have in a pinch, plus it gives you a lot of shooting before charging.
