Hello y'all! Just starting with Orks after having played 40k for a while so here I am with a competitive Orks list! Now I'm new to the faction and not aware of all the nasty techniques you can do with them. Feel free to be as brutal as you can with the list, tear it apart. My plan is to have the 2 tankbusta squads in the trukks as a little protective shield. Of course that'll make them a huge target and I'll be having my stormaboyz in deepstrike. Now I wasn't sure whether to have 5 traktor kannons and a squad of 20 stormboyz, or 30 stormboyz and the minimum 3 traktor kannons. Let me know and happy WAAAAAAAAAAGGGHHH

You should consider taking more smasha guns than traktor. They perform similar if not better and are much cheaper. This will allow you to get a single rokkit boy in each boyz squad that can take advantage of the deathskulls reroll.

Also give your biker boss the killa claw relic. He is far more flexible with movement, tougher and has more wounds. Biker boss with relic claw 100% of the time with WL trait. Then make one of your weirdboyz a warphead and take fists of gork. Makes him a knight killing machine.

They are so expensive lol. This isn't going to be a quick list to build/paint but it seems like it'd be a lot of fun to play as well. I haven't played a horde army in 40k so I'm excited.

Now Smasha Guns are significantly cheaper than traktor kannon's I'll give em that. But does the deahtskulls rule apply to the 2d6 roll? Does that count as a wound roll or something else entirely? Because if it does apply then you're 100% right. But idk if it counts as a "wound" roll. Also yeah, the biker boss is flat out better.

I don't think you need two weirdboyz and two warbosses, just bring one of each and spend 1 CP to give a second power to the psychic instead. Bring a SAG big mek as the 3rd HQ, the vigilus relic makes it very good under the deathskulls kultur.

I'd also avoid the banner, you don't have that many units that want that +1 to hit, just two blobs of boyz actually and maybe stormboyz, but they have a different speed and may not come under the aura. Bring a mek with KMB or a min squad of kommandos instead.

Single koptas with KMBs are certainly more effective than stormboyz, eventually give them rokkits.

Yeah I've swapped out the banner for a painboy just for a cheap elite choice and to make the boyz squad slightly tougher. I'm not aware of the Vigilus Relic for Mek with SAG. Can you tell me what it does? Definitely see how the koptas are better, I've now switched that.

Just out of curiosity why are Smasha Guns considered so good? they seem alright but so finicky. The cost drop is mightily appreciated but I fail to understand the preference of them over Traktor Kannons. Now I'm not saying you're wrong! You know far more about Orks than I do. It's more just can't wrap my head around it. Either way, I'll take it to heart and fix up my list!

It's a relic SAG with 2D6 shots. That combined to the deathskulls ability to re-roll a hit, a wound and a D6 roll makes the weapon quite good. There's also a stratagem that allows it to fire twice for 2 CPs. It costs 1 CP since the big mek need to get a specific keyword (these mechanics are described in the book) and of course another CP if you already have a relic on another character.
