Hey mate, genestealer cults come in numbers but they die easily so you ll need anti horde weapons mainly.

Spacewolf HQs are better with hammer/shield + jumpack. In that way they have the mobility needed to get in combat and also share their buffs plus they hit hard and more reliable with hammers thnx to that +1 to hit chapter tactic.
Combine that with the 6" heroic intervention and the armour of russ and the enemy will think twice to charge you if you keep your HQs nearby.

Land speeders and reivers are very bad. One very cheap fire support option is the twinlas/missile launcher dreadnought with the new chapter approved.

genestealers got lots of psychers so you better bring a rune priest

For 1000pts 3 HQs are a point sink for a marine army. Stay with 2 at the most

I dont know what models you own but i would go with something like the following:

Battalion

HQ

122 Runepriest with jumpack (Runic stave, armour of russ, temepst wrath, furry of wolf spirits, smite)

109 Wolfguard battle leader with jumpack (hammer/shield, wulfenstone, saga of wolfkin) (warlord)

TROOPS

85 5x grey hunters (1xpower fist, 1xplasma gun)

85 5x grey hunters (1xpower fist, 1xplasma gun)

85 5xintercessors (1xauxiliary grenade, 5x rapid fire rifles)

ELITES

120 dreadnought (twin las/ missile launcher)

161 dakka redemptor dreadnought

Transports

116 razorback (twin assault cannon/ storm bolter)

116 razorback (twin assault cannon/ storm bolter)

TACTIC

Dreadnought stays back for long range fire support. Grey hunters enter the Razorbacks amd with the HQs and the redemptor go towards the enemy. They all reroll 1s to wound from battle leader and 1s to hit from the wisdom of the ancients on the redemptor. If anything charges you HQs intervene and make it fight last. Intercessors cover the back line with new bolter rules and the grenade launcher. Runepriest can also trigger -1 to hit or chooser of the slain for shooting a unit coming from cult ambush

I was looking at the CP's that would go with combining the two army builds together would it still be better to go with the two HQ and just take the 5 CPs?

By keeping the battalion you only lose 1 CP from the vanguard its not a big deal. You still have 8 CPs instead of 9 . It is better to use the points from the third HQ to put some better units on the ground

Currently I have about 50 marines, the 5 intercessors, 5 regular termies, 5 tartaros termies, a land raider, a land speeder, 5 reivers, a redemptor dread, a normal dread, 3 aggressors, a chaplain that I could make into either a wolf or rune priest, a primaris battle leader, and a wolf lord. I also have 5 custodes, and 5 sisters of silence. I have an mash-up.
