Just working on a list to get me started on what to paint. Usually will try to make a 2k list and paint it, see how it goes.

I guess gameplan is to get into combat ASAP and make use of the free d3 mortal wounds coming from bloodthunder stampede. I have more than one way of denying spells with 3 of my heroes. Blood reavers stay back to hold objective, same with the slaughterpriest and he will try to keep the bloodthirster alive. Not sure which artefact/command trait combo i should give the skullmaster so i just decided on giving him +1 damage twice.

Edit: I would wait until the new Tome drops before deciding on a list but Ghyrstrike on the Bloodthirster will trigger Outrageous Carnage on a 5 or 6 for the AOE mortal wounds

I second the motion on Ghyrstrike. The Khorne tome will have endless blessings too, really interested in what those will do and who can pray for them.

What is Ghrystrike?

Ah, you'll need to get the Endless Spell box which has the Magic book in it. Within they have all the spells and artefacts from the various Mortal Realms. When you take an army you can say that it is from one of the Realms, and if you do so, you gain access to the weapons/artefacts of that Realm.

Ghyran is the realm of life, and it has a relic weapon called Ghyrstrike which grants the bearer's melee weapon +1 to hit AND +1 to wound. That's pretty awesome on the Insensate Rage Thirster, and pretty much any hero model that's already a beatstick.

Just FYI, named characters cannot take relics/artefacts, so for example, Skarbrand could not take that.

Gonna have to try that; with a couple Bloodstokers whipping him forward to move even faster! (+3 to run or charge, plus Errol failed to-wound, each!). That ‘thirster isn’t missing a single attack!

1 stoker + WOK thirster command ability to whip him is te way to go. (+4 run-charge + run and charge) Almost a guaranteed turn 1 charge... I use it with council of blood to get an auto 6" run on top..
