I play 40k and have only done one game of 30k way back like 10 years ago.

ATM I have a custodes army I can use in both systems. This is what I have:

My questions are if i should split the squad of firepike aquilon termies and the pallas grav attacks in every game or keep them together for some? Also is having only 9 troops gonna be bad in HH? Should i join the 2 HQ to the vexilla squad or mabey one to each of the other 2 squads so i can deep strike?

More troops is usyally better. Honestly wouldn't worry about being hyper efficient with heresy Custodes. Just field what you have that looks good. They are very strong.

Also, in case you'd missed it, book 8 is due soon, which will have an entirely new Custodes list.

Only Troops can score objectives in 30k scenarios, so if your opponent just has to kill nine Guard to take out your ability to score points you could have trouble.

30k Custodians are also so tremendously expensive that I tend to not bother with a second HQ; once you've spent 250-300pts on a Tribune or Valdor the other 250-300pts are better spent on 4-5 more bodies rather than the other one. Also on the subject of your Tribune loadout under Book 7 rules and FAQ rules (I doubt this will change in Book 8) you can't use a pair of talons alongside the Praesidium shield, and I'd strongly suggest skipping the talons entirely in favour of a gauntlet or Paragon Spear since AP2 is pretty important for getting into character fights.

On the Agamatus I tend to prefer the Adrathic Devastator to the bolt cannon; you go down from three shots at 36" range to two shots at 18" range, but it's only 5pts more, Armourbane makes it effective against a much wider range of targets, and Instant Death makes Mechanicum bots poo themselves.
