I got a forgeword Khorne Blood Slaughterer which doesnt come with a base.

Is there an official base size for this figure ?

Is there a 40k base size list like they have for AOS ?

No, there isn't a 40k base size list around. "Official" base sizes are the size that the model came with. This means that you could have models of the same type on two different base sizes depending on when the models were produced. For example, some of the orks now come on 32mm bases, but used to come on 25mm bases. The people who have the older ones and have them on the 25 mm bases they came with don't have to change them out for larger bases.

Was the Blood Slaughterer an accident of not shipping a base with it, or does it normally come without a base? If the latter, and you wish to base it, just find a base that doesn't look too big or too small for the model.

Closest thing to a 40k base guide that I have found is this: https://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Basing_Guidelines_for_Warhammer_40,000

AoS does have them now, though, so I'd expect 40K to follow suit soon. Especially seeing GW started to mandate current base size in their tournaments.

As for Blood Slaughterer, it doesn't seem to have base in FW store, but most of the pictures I saw of it has it based (if only to avoid rule arguments), so you might pick something that looks good and run with it.

The only reason Age of Sigmar has them is because the game went from square bases for WHFB to round bases. There is no need for such a document for 40K since they've been on round bases for years.

I have actually seen a list for 40K, I cant find it as I should have also saved it.

All infantry was on 25mm which causes some issues in AOS as 3 of the 4 Chaos Battlelines are on 32mm while Daemonettes are on 25mm.

Base size makes a big difference in close combat.
Figures on 25mm (less then an inch) can get 2nd row attacks while figures on 32mm (larger then an inch) can only first row attacks.

I have seen the Slaughterer on an Arachnarok size base, I think that is the largest in AOS but the figure isnt that big and I dont really care about decorative base rather then have close to accurate base that wont cause issues.

Maybe I will see what the base is for the Shadowspear Chaos Venom Crawler and use that.

It's in the AoS Core Rules Designers' Commentary on Warhammer Community.
