I am moving to Japan, anyone play up north? I am open to try new things, but I am most interested in 40k.

How northern is northern here? I'm based in Fukushima prefecture, which is probably about the halfway point between Tokyo and Hokkaido.

I'm in Morioka, Iwate. There are a couple of groups of boardgamers (one is all Japanese), but I think that my 9-year old and I are the only dedicated minis enthusiasts. Where will you be? Tohoku (northern Japan) is a pretty big place.

I’ll be in Morioka. I don’t mind traveling from time to time but always going to Tokyo seems a bit troubling.

Really? We'll definitely have to get together. Are you into any other games? Recently I've been playing a lot of Frostgrave and it's related games.

Haven’t tried Frostgrave but I’m always willing to give a new game a chance. The only miniatures I have at the moment are 40k, but in the past I’ve played some Battletech and Boltaction. I’m moving from Iowa and most of my friends play board games and D&D here.

Feel free to friend me and we can make some plans to play sometime!

I'm alas not in Japan, but I remind everyone that we have a store and player locator that are very handy for out of the way places.

I actually picked up the new Battletech Starter and Base set, mostly for nostalgia reasons-- I started playing when it was still Battledroids, but lost the bug when I/we discovered WHFB.
