I am a 40k player looking to get into AoS. I thought it would be easier to start as Nurgle Daemons as I play Death Guard in 40k and I have a lot of Nurglings, some Plaguebearers, and some Daemon Princes already. I was wondering about a few things:

1. Do Nurgle Daemons use the Maggotkin battletome, or the Daemons of Chaos battletome? Or both? I know Maggotkin is new and that Daemons is an old one, I wasn't sure if Daemons was even being redone or if it would be handled differently this time. If you can go with either battletome, what are the pro and cons of each? I'm leaning towards Maggotkin just because I will probably end up getting Blight Kings next.
1a. If they are playable with the Maggotkin tome, are Nurgle Daemons good when combined with Blight Kings? Never played AoS and I don't know a lot about building an army.
2. Are straight Nurgle warbands any good competitively?
3. Are there are any good Nurgle builds that utilize a ton of Nurglings? I have 18 models, so 6 units of 3, and I really love the slimy, bitey, dodge balls of doom.
4. Any tactics/strategies that I should consider using?
5. I used Morghast Harbingers, which are from the Death faction, as 40k Daemon Princes with Malefic Talons. Used lots of Typhus Corrosion to make the armor look good and Nurgley. Since they are AoS models for a different faction, I didn't know if people would be cool with that or not. What do you think?

I appreciate any help, thanks!

1. maggotkin tome.

2. are they a tournament power list? They are... upper mid tier. I wouldn't call them a power list though. They can do well at the power gamer level, but they will struggle to win the espn gold. Not saying it can't be done. Just more challenging. But not a wet napkin either.

3. I haven't seen any but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

4. There are a ton of nurgle tactics discussions in the tactics sub forum.

5. Subjective question depends on your group and opponents. For me I don't care, and I'd wager most won't care either.

1a - Maggotkin.
2a - Yes, that is in fact the best way to go.
2 - What Auticus said
3 - No
4 - Starting off with a GUO, a unit of 6 Plague Drones (for him to buff), 30x plaguebearers, and two 5x Blightkings will give you a strong base to work off for a 2000 point list.
5 - Will probably be fine. They will be DPs with sword though, since dual talons is not an option in AoS (avoid the axe).

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.
