I'm looking to get in to HH with Solar Auxilia, and had some question I hope could get answered:
1. Any painting tutorials for Solar Auxilia out there for a novice like me?
2. How many points does the Solar Auxilia Strike Force set on Forge World come out to?
3. Should lists be built at 2500 or 3000 points?

1. The really cool thing about using Imperial Army troops (like the Solar Auxilia) is that while there are a few established color schemes for some specific regiments, you can kinda go wild and create your own unique look! Very different from rigid legion heraldry!
2. So sure
3. Both are popular points levels, 2500 seems to be more common at large events due to time constraints, while 3000 seems to be a common level for most casual play.

Command squad, two rifle sections, one storm section, one Ogryn squad? ~650-700pts, I think. Solar Auxilia are not a cheap army to get into.

Just did the maths you can squeeze almost 1000 points out of that army bundle.

Honestly? They look cool but you might need a mortage and to sell a kidney and maybe a lung too. Your looking at close to 1K for three full Tercios, and you will want those. Then you have command choices, artillery, those new light tanks, transports, etc....

Good choice of army. I'd recommend getting started with 2000 points to get a feel for the army and add to it over time depending on performance.
