Just wanted to ask, both have advanced armor compared to the typical Asartes, but which one is actually better in terms of gear and experience?

obviously this is going to come with some cavets, but in terms of better Experiance, Terminators, they're universally the elite veterns of a chapter, and a LOT of Primaris are actually pretty green.

equipment wise it's a little more complex. Terminator armor is still, hands down, the best armor the Astartes have, but the new primaris armor is proably more advanced, and Primaris marines have weapons that are proably better

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

I'd say on an individual level terminator armor is more advanced. Between the ability to take various heavy weapons, some which can be fired independently, over all tougher armor and the cherry on top shielding.

Power armor even the primaris versions are massed produced for line troops albeit elite ones. Terminator suits are essentially custom made and hand crafted and something that the average forgeworld can't make.

Terminator armor is significantly superior to Mk X armor. Mk X is essentially just refined errant armor as far as anyone can tell, with a little more customization options.

Terminators are more experienced warriors than a newb primaris, as only the best are permitted to use terminator armor.

The Space marine within the terminator armor lacks the Sinew Coil bionic upgrade for greater strength and defens. They also lack the Magnificat which gives greater size, muscle, and bone density. And they lack the Belisarian Furnace which can keep a marine going despite otherwise critical injury.

There's no in universe reason a Primaris can't wear Terminator armor however, which would be the best of all worlds once the Primaris has equivalent combat experience.

Hold your groxs fellas.

Terminator armor provides the best 'protection' a SM can have, but that does not mean its the best. It is anything but mobile compared to any version of regular power armor.

I LOVE terminators but they are not versatile. MK X armor would be better overall becuase of its versatility.

As of yet it isn’t versitile.
Terminators can literally just grab any weapon and most wargear, MK X armour wearers need to change unit to change weapons.
You want a plasma weapon? Join the Hellblasters.
You want a melee weapon? Become the unit leader.
You want a knife or a pistol? Join the Reivers. Hold up a moment while we change your armour to Phobos pattern.
You want a Storm Shield? Toughen up princess, you ain't getting one.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go.

It's less mobile but you also get massive benefits like being able to see what everyone is doing, a real time sensor scan of the area, amazing defence, enough stability to use almost any weapon you want and teleporting. 9/10 situations will be better served by a Terminator than a Space Marine hence why they were meant to replace power armour.

Well Chaos power armour marines haven't had much problem in the lore killing Primaris so far, though they are a lot more experience, so I'd say terminator armoured loyalists lore-wise are still much better than Primaris marines.

The Shroud of night, the Alpha marines didn't have problems killing them, neither did the Khonre Berserkers. They noted their increased strength and their toughness etc. but a single squad of alpha marines went through squads of them.

Sloppy writing then. Primaris Marines have guns that outrange CSMs, that also have superior armor penatration. CSMs running into Primaris Marines for the first time should by rights be in for a NASTY NASTY suprise.

No it was well written, the writer included everything you say and made them look like a serious threat to the Alpha legion but still they managed to defeat them. The strongest of the AL even found it hard to wrestle the Primaris, when it came to CC. The lore shows that experience is far more important than just physical attributes, the rules are the opposite really. Its actually always been that way, look at Grimnar taking on multiple GK's with ease, its the same with any chapter master, captain etc. They are far above the attributes of a standard marine, its just GW haven't realised how to level them out in that way, which is fine I suppose as rule wise that would be very hard to do it in a balanced way.

The Alpha Legion in Shroud of Night had quite a lot of difficulty killing them from what I remember, and only really did so when they were outnumbered.

No they were evenly matched from how I remember it, it was one squad vs one squad, they had trouble but no more than another squad of Astartes, they had more trouble than it should have been but, they lost one and one lost an arm. They still won and managed to keep a human alive while doing it.

*** actually we are both wrong, just checked no numbers were stated between them, though the Alpha legion did have more than 5.

You haven't even read the novel. Give me an example of me having a creative 'interpretation' of the facts then. we all have influenced memories, I may be wrong from time to time but I never lie and I always admit when I am wrong. Not a lot of people here do, but a lot do what you do to dismiss peoples opinions or arguments with ad hominems.

ohh please get off your high horse. running into an unxpectedly superior foe is on your first encounter going to be a rough go at it. you don't need to be some sort of "special life experiance" to be able to judge that.
