Subject: [1990] - Necron Sautekh - looking for advise
Hey guys, I've been working on this Necron list, just to check some outcome. To me, the most challenging armies to build a list are necrons and eldars, so I'm really looking forward to some advise.
Tactics are to play aggressively, characters supporting gunline while flyers try to deal with heavier stuff. I'd like to add some doomsday arks, but they would have to remain stationary for full power. So, should I lose the other Ghost Ark for some other stuff? And, Command Barge could be easily replaced with Imotekh, for additional command point, but then again, I'm not sure what relic to take..

Take the CCB and one Ghost ark out. Take Imotekh and one Doomsday ark. Then, give warscythes ti your overlirds. Give the warscythe relic to one of them. Give the veil of darkness to one cryptek and make him babysit the unit of warriors without a ghost ark and voilĂ .
Now your army play similar, but you have Imotehk for his warlord trait and lord of the storm rule, one unit which can surprise teleport once per game and an overlors that can kill bloodthirsters in CC (I actually tried it).
But to be honest, IMO, you should only run Sauthek for Doomsday arks and doomscythes and always use Nephrekh with immortals instead of warriors. Still, warriors with crypteks can be annoying as hell for your opponent.

Well, my approach with Necrons is to bring all shooting weapons to bear ASAP, in round one if possible.
Not sure if the Gauss weapons bounce off.
In my book I mainly use Tesla.

This looks like to many HQs to me. I dont think res orbs are worth it. They give you an RP roll, after you already made a RP roll from the warriors at the start of the turn. The res orb needs to reanimate at least four warriors, to be effective. And its only once per game. For 70 points you can get 6 more warriors, maybe cut something here and there, and you may be able to add another 10 warriors, or something else.
I agree on adding imotekh (removing the CCB), he is well worth his points. He can use MWBD twice, saving you CP for phaerons will, and you can remove one overlord. Alternatively, being immune to morale losses, using the WLT immortal pride, isnt a bad thing with so many warriors. I would add scarabs as chaff, area denial, for smite intercepts. I dont like three doom scythes, but reports from players using them have been positive, so it looks like they are effective.
Here is my suggestion :
Spoiler:
++ Air Wing Detachment +1CP (Necrons) [33 PL, 450pts] ++
How come no destroyers? Probably the best unit in the codex especially when you use the stratagem for rerolls. 2 units of 5 or 6, just in case one unit get wiped off the board turn 1. Deploy them both out of LOS for added safety.
With big blobs of infantry it would help to use immortal pride WL.
