Greetings,

Does anyone know some good, easy to access sources for the Russian/Chinese/North Korean forces during he Korean Air War?

I have a pretty good grasp of what the UN forces could field during the air war, but not as many good sources on the opfor.

Any ideas?

Only ever read a couple of books on the subject (the air campaign that is);
Air War Korea 1950-1953 by someone Jackson and Red Wings over the Yalu by Xiamoming Zhaou

Both were pretty mediocre.
If you just want lists of planes and technicals then this site is fairly good;

In a gaming context you might check out Check Your 6! Air war Korea.

I've only ever seen the WW2 era books but they research and present the era well with a nice range of scenarios.
I'm sure you can get most of the aircraft involved at 1:300 scale somewhere.

Thanks. I had taken a look at that as a good start.

On a side note, I have had the chance to see a few of these "up close" at various places....

- B-47 Stratojet- If I recall I saw one of these at the Mighty 8th Air Museum in Georgia.
- F-84 Thunderjet (swept-wing version) at Cheyenne Air National Guard Museum

I am pretty sure I have seen Sabres, Mustangs, and a Sky Raider as well but the locatiosn escape me.
