So yeah got myself one of them start collecting boxes with the dryads and the branchwych and the big guy with the vines that go zip zop boobity bop, however I was wondering what the defining features of a branch nymph was.

You see Theo, in a unit of dryads 1 model from that unit can be the branch nymph which is the leader you see, however I am not sure what part of the assembly kit is supposed to mark a specific model as a branch nymph since all the parts are designed to mix and match with all the other parts.

In other units that have a leader model usually that leader is easily identifiable having a different weapon or bit of gear that distinguishes them from the other models such as the head of the chainrasp horde wielding a candelabra are a tree revenant being assembled with a banner, however there is nothing to say what distinguishes the branch nymph from the other models in the unit of dryads, the only thing I can see that could potentially be used is that little stand alone stone thingy that gets placed on the base of the model, just want to make sure I am not missing something when putting these guys together?

The really long arms with the spurs extending from the elbow were marked as the unit champion-specific parts when it was a WHFB kit; it's hard to spot to someone used to Sigmar because the organization of the kit (one set of frames per four models) does mean you get four of them. It's mostly a consequence of how old the kit is.

I might suggest grabbing some extra spites off the Kurnoth sprue to mark out the leader if you found yourself wanting to use those arms on more models.

Use the skeletal bits to identify your nymph. I prefer the skeleton myself, but you could just use a skull instead. Just ensure you only build one that way and your problem is solved.

The three more ornate back parts are good for this purpose (IIRC one's a skeleton, one's a set of multiple branches with a skull wedged in them, and one has a spite sitting in the bows) coupled with a distinct variation in their paint scheme.

I added spites to the Nymph myself. Having one really bright color is the only way to pick it out of the thicket.

I used the Spirit of Durthu branches with all the skulls to replace the back branches on my unit leaders so they have extra unique ones. They also have the special arms, but those are much less noticeable.
