I was thinking i should just wait and see what they have in the new codex in the morning haha but anyway.
I just need a hand figuring out the command squad im doing for my 1st company Steel Confessor space marine army.
Its not going to be a legit fighting force at the moment im just collecting and painting so i understand this is ultimately an illegal setup, but i would like to know how many and what sort of troops i can count as my command squad or hq in general equipped in terminator armor.
I have a captain i will use a veteran captain.
I have some apothecary bits from a terminator that i have made one with.
I have a terminator ancient
I do have a terminator chaplain and librarian in the mail.
A couple choices i could use for a champion, or a sgt.
And then i have about 10 assault/standard termies i can mix and match with limited weapon choices.

A command squad is traditionally 5 marines to accompany the company’s heroes (Captain, Chaplain, Librarian, Techmarine).
It would include a standard bearer, apothecary and champion, the other two marines were standard.
For the purposes of what you’re making I would have the two standard marines being “honour guard” type bodyguards with stormshields.

didn't standard marines get terminator standard bearers in the new codex?

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

But not Champions, Apothecaries, or Command Squads with the bodyguard rule.

My WHFB armies were Bretonians and Tomb Kings.

Aye thanks, yeh i noticed the termy ancient data while i was perusing it earlier, made me happy.
Ah well ill just see if i can find some old is it deathwing? info for the apothecary and then use 2 assault termies as honor guard with storm shields and hammers as im out of swords >< I have an inquisitor i will be using aswell i know that its not a standard choice hence why i didnt mention him with the others above but he fits nicely with my fluff

I have the feeling you're going to spend more time convincing people to let you play your homebrew than you will playing. A few small deviations are easy. Taking huge chunks of several different codexes is less so. An Inquisitor, a Deathwing Command Squad, assumedly as part of a Vanilla Marines Chapter with their own Chapter Tactic is going to a little more than a small deviation.

Its fine, as i stated above im more into just creating my vision of the 1st company and i guess chapter heros of the steel confessors. I dont know of anyone local who plays anyway, and if i did i can just chop out all the illegal stuff and have 2 sets of army/unit sheets written up.

So i guess having my company champion mounted in my knight valiant is so far out of touch haha.

I'll agree about the bodyguard rules, it's kinda stupid that there isnt a bodyguard open to non "special" marines.

Um if that's the case my Lias Bomb got incredibly easier to run.

Hey if your not playing, you should do you. If nobody sees your list nobody can complain. Problem solved.
