So I've been thinking of starting up space wolves but I feel like something is lacking from this list. How do you think it'll run? The idea is to have a fire base and then have a counter charge/assault element. I was thinking of changing the Razorbacks to impulsers so the intercessors can relocate for objective grabbing.

Wolf Lord and WGBL should have jump packs (SMASH). They should also have storm shields and thunder hammers, or at least power fists. Storm Bolter and power Sword is nowhere near as capable.

Whirlwinds tend to underperform.

WG pack leaders are expensive on Long Fang Packs. Just get more Long Fangs, instead.

WG Bikers (index only) with storm shields and storm bolters are best bike option available.

Wulfen are the best thing in SW codex, so you should probably use some!

Iron priest is silly just to heal two transports and two whirlwinds, although I'm sure he looks cool on a Fenrisian Wolf. I tend only to run them if I am spamming big dreads (Bjorn / Murderfang / Relic Leviathan / Ven Dread with Axe & Shield), or if I am running a Stormwolf.

Thanks for the comments! I get what you're saying and done some rethinking, how does this look?

The basic idea is the invictor suits set up at the front and provide an immediate threat. The full battalion stays back with Krom and the wolf guard proving reroll support for the long fangs and the blood claws providing a screen. Should anything come near Krom and the wolf guard will jump forwards and engage.

Meanwhile the wolf lords charge forwards using the bikers as a screen with their 3++ with Bjorn and murderfang raging along too. The bikes will clear screening units allowing the others to strike into the heart of the enemy.

That list looks fun. I love the SW dread characters. Bjorn is one of nastiest non knights / titans in the game.

Tell me how the bikers work for you. I generally run them forward with Bjorn as he is pretty quick and the rerolls make them put the hurt on infantry. Try to set them up to kill infantry that carry ok weapons, so the storm shields can really shine.
