I'm in love with the Tempestus looks and style of gameplay, so i decided after some research on this loadout
At the moment i have bought 2 SC boxes and the assassin, and will buy the rest in the near future. Any advice? Also, if i'm looking to upgrade to a 2000 points army, should i keep it all Tempestus or add another regiment?
I love the Astra Militarum and Imperial Knights and i'm fairly tempted to further expand my army with them as to get some good damage from leman russes/basilisks or knights
All advice/critiques are welcome!

Knights allied with tempestes are a VERY cool pairup.

you might even get the rusty 17 -- 15 skitarii vangaurd, 2 engenseers(one is your new warlord) as command, make them all stygies for the -1 to hit at range

Perhaps 2 armigar knights and one crusader knight, I think that would give you 8 more command points, some decent firepower, a decent melee unit, and your little engseers could run aroudn repairing the knights when injured, even if slowly (well, not so slowly. The warlord engseer can use "tech-adept" to double heal the knight he already doubleheals, meaning you can grow 4 points back onto a wounded knight each turn at a cost of 1 cp.). The skitarri troops camp backfield objectives well and free up your much more expensive and usefully armed scions to drop in the frontfield. The Admech addition to the soup means you can let your canticles affect your knights -- so your crusader can start the game in cover, with a feel no pain, and the option to repair even a dead armigar back to full health in a few rounds. The enemy may kill all your knights? But he is going to be maximally distracted doing so, and you are meantime focusing the entire drop force on his rather unhappy face.
I forget how to spell the house that does the feel no pain, but its on the admech side so you can use the "functions at full efficiency" strategem on any of the three knights, that can also literally be brought back from the dead with 1-3 wounds repaired. Its not the most competitive crusader knight build, but a little heal, a little no feel, and a stands back up strategem are also buffs the two armiger knights enjoy. Meaning you may get a lot more mileage out of your 3 knights than your opponent expects, and each antitank shot fired at any knight is NOT going to vaporize a scion into a sad red mist.

Depends I guess on how competitive you feel.

Also, agree, EVERY gaurd army needs more valkyries. I appreciate the meta is shifting now, and the new marine codex information ?(all of them?) might my own lists advice as obselete as last month's breakfast, I don't know what is competitive anymore. But I do know "this was harder to kill than the box said".

Should i drop one of the Taurox and add a Valk, or simply add another one expanding the army? I really like the idea of the skitarii and scions togheter, maybe even paint the scions in the mechanicus colors.
I'm not on the competitive side of things, i likethe fluff but i would also like to make the most out of my money. May get in the competitive side after a while, for now i just wanna have fun and slowly drag my group of friends into the depth of 40k

Dont forget you have several lord commisars to buiild who can ride in the tauroxes AND valkry, are cheap to buy, and can greatly assist in melee to support the troops, when someone comes after your command squads. They are also an easy conversion to make into astropaths -- I just give them a laspistol and an empty arm, and use a different head (you have those ten heads spare on each sprue).

Taken together, that would give your army a smidge of real melee and its first psyker denial power and spell, and when you later grow your army, those are two inexpensive and useful imperial gaurd units that you can get great mileage out of. Worried about your -1 to hit valkry being a target? Make it -1 MORE with the astropath's magic. Worried about someone rushing your squad of innocent plasma rifles? Leave a lord commisar with a powersword nearby to heroically intervene for them. (or better yet, kitbash a powerfist onto his model from the main sprue, which is a good early kitbash project) A plasma pistol packing melee unit with s6 -2 d3 x 3 attacks that hits on 3+ can threaten (probably will lose to but still CAN threaten) even marine characters who get too frisky. If you cut the flag off its pole, and use that as an astropaht's force staff, you can make an "astropath" who fights in melee, too.
43+32 points worth of stuff you already own, and they are real easy to tuck into the valkry and whisk aroudn the boad. The commisar can also ride in taurox primes, though I think the astropath can't.

When you buy another scion kit, I recommend you make a convertible taurus instead of a taurus prime only. Just put the autocannon on the sides where HSVG go, and you can remove the turret (with its battlecannon or its gatling gun and its stormbolter) .. voila, you have a traditonal, imperial gaurd non-scion transport that can carry scions OR imperial gaurd, and you can still hot swap them back to the full taurox prime by adding the turret back.

Then when you do break down and buy a gaurd starter kit, you can load your new gaurd units in that, as a second (patrol) detachment beside your scions. A very mobile force backed up by a leman russ, to run with your tempestes wolfpack.

Thanks! I have already magnetized the Taurox side guns, missle launcher and turret; i will be painting him with the scions colors, hope no one complains if i treat him as normal Taurox.
As for the Lord Commisar, i'll just proxy him with the Commisars that come with the SC boxes? or convert them?
The astropath i'll look for it on ebay i think

It was years before I realized that those guys were NOT lord commisars...
I still use mine as lord commisars more often than low ones, its only recently I began converting a few of the guy in the coat that comes with some tanks into a different commisar model.

What about this as a future plan? I'm still new, so i think i'll start with the 1000 pts list, and slowly build up. I'll modify it to accomodate for the astropath and a lord commisar
