I'm starting a new diorama and could do with some help looking for a few minis.

The setting is that of an alien forest/jungle/hive and will feature some Cadians (using the forgeworld hostile environment kits).
The Cadians will be patrolling and unknowingly stumbling into an ambush by some aliens.
I've made a human vs alien diorama before using a guard heavy-bolter team and some hormagaunts before so i'd like to use some other 'species' of xenos.
If anyone has any suggestions for models I'd greatly appreciate it!
Ideally I'm after animalistic, swarming, apex predator kinda aliens, as opposed to technological aliens.
Something along the lines of xenomorphs or zerglings but without being so recognisable.

Thanks kindly!

Yeah, the Ambull or some Dark Eldar beasts (or use something from AoS).

how about some Kroot or Vespids?

If you didn't use them in the tyranid diorama, how about genestealers? They're distinct enough looking from the tyranids imo, especially with their slightly different origins.

Another idea that isn't quite along the lines that you're asking for, but might be fun anyway, is similar to the Ambull ideas mentioned above: how about using the ambot models? The idea would be an abandoned imperial world gone feral, guardsmen reclaiming the planet but finding the old abandoned technology has malfunctioned/gone rogue. You could have the ambots covered in lichen and moss and sort of emerging out of the jungles like a monster.

Other than that, I guess there's daemons? Erm... Snotlings?

What about Armageddon Ork Hunters?

Ambush them orks predator style or Rambo whichever way you see it, possibly add sly marbo for kicks

You could try out some exodites or Eldar Rangers? There is a lot of cool art for them.

Thanks for all the ideas!

The Ambull looks like it'd fit pretty well so I'll keep my eyes peeled for a model once my paycheck comes in.
Dark eldar beasts look promising too, I'll have to do some research there to see what's possible.
As for Vespids/Kroot i think they're too much on the technological side of things given that they have guns.
Snotlings, though hilarious, don't really send the message across. More of a "cheeky goblins gonna steal your shinies" than "unthinkable warp spawn gonna flay you alive".

If anyone know where I could get a hold of some ripper swarms that'd be good, I've just remembered about them and they fit perfectly.

Thanks again for all the suggestions!

P.S. Ambot idea is too good. I will reserve it for a pt.2 of this diorama or one entirely of it's own.

Maybe some kind of "giant bugs" swarm? Centipedes are pretty horrifying, and there are plenty of cheap plastic/rubber creepy-crawly toys out there with minimal zoological accuracy.
