Subject: The greatest Kids TV show. A simple statement of fact.
Horrible Histories. Hands down the greatest ever Kids show ever in ever. Forever.
Seriously. This is a kids show, shot on a shoestring budget. And over it’s five original seasons, it’s on-set Historian spotted a mere 8 things that weren’t quite true. Out of 4,000 facts.
8 out of 4,000......
Yep. Unlike the History Channel, nothing received a dramatic fluffed. Just straight up facts, in one of the outright funniest shows I will have the privilege to see.
Sketches and songs, songs and sketches. My favourite?
LITERALLLLLY!
As for it’s factual accuracy? Here’s a slightly sweary NSFW on account of swearies which is well researched, and pretty much nails it. You can trust Karl Smallwood.
If you’re not familiar with it, it’s currently on UK Netflix for sure. Dunno about elsewhere, but VPN or whatevs and enjoy. Whether you’ve kids of your own, have a hankering for history, or just enjoy damned good comedy , I guarantee you’ll enjoy it.
Their stuff on Caligula is my face. Simon Farnham really does enjoy his Furniture with a slice of ham

I would have to disagree. Best kids' show ever would be:
Spoiler:
"Through the darkness of future past, the magician longs to see.
One chants out between two worlds: Fire, walk with me." - Twin Peaks
"You listen to me. While I will admit to a certain cynicism, the fact is that I am a naysayer and hatchetman in the fight against violence. I pride myself in taking a punch and I'll gladly take another because I choose to live my life in the company of Gandhi and King. My concerns are global. I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method... is love. I love you Sheriff Truman." - Twin Peaks

The wife would agree with this. I always thought the best kids show was the "Nog and Og play with Fire" hour, well at least the first seasons before Og was attacked by a giant sloth and caught the cave on fire.
-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG
-"Don't mind Frazzled. He's just Dakka's crazy old dude locked in the attic. He's harmless. Mostly."

Horrible Histories is brilliant. We've watched it to death, and I won't have a bad word said against it. My wife fancies Matthew Baynton. We've seen this video an awful lot.
Yeah, can’t argue. Might argue with your choice of song, though. While I like a rock ballad as much as the next man, and that Viking one gets points for an “oh oh oh”, I do like this Lady Gaga pastiche:

Moonmin and Maid Marian were both great! Moonmin certainly deserves far more recognition!
The 80-90's had so many fantastic classics that its darn hard to choose a BEST. In fact I don't think such a thing exists.
However I'll throw in two that I followed for AGES and which were both really outstanding
Animals of Farthing Wood - you'd never get this made today for kids! Death, love, struggle - it had it all! A rollercoaster of emotion and struggle! It also didn't play to a perfect "weekely restart" system. Miss an episode and huge things could have happened - new characters appearing, some old vanishing, new situations etc... Heck by the very end many of the original cast of characters had left.
Prince Valiant - I'm a big fan of high magic settings, but this is one of the few pretty low magic fantasy stories that, every time I hear that music or see an episode it sparks the imagination back to the time of castles and knights.
