The conventional answer is a nurgle detachment with plague bears they are very tough for their cost. A solid alternative would be khorne bloodletters, a mob of 20 deep striking with an upgraded banner for a 3D6 charge.
I'm experimenting with adding both Knights and Deredeos into my Daemon list.
My core is: Poxbringer Bilepiper 50-60 Plaguebearers in 2 units, with Icons (and sometimes Instruments) A unit of Brims (x10) or Nurglings (x3) depending on points. I find that the Nurgle Locus isn't all that great without a Scrivener, so I don't mind losing it.
My rotating stuff is: -A Khorne Patrol of Axe Prince and Letter Bomb -Alpha Legion Brigade with Sorcerer, Apostle, 30xCultists, and 2x Deredeos -3x Questoris Knights (Rampager, Despoiler with thermal/chain, Despoiler with thermal/reaper) -Knights Superheavy with Rampager supported by 2x Lightning Moirax -TSons Supreme Command
I can roughly fit two of the rotating options into my list (the notable exception being the 3x Questoris, that is expensive!)

Sloppity
3x3 nurglings
1991pts and gives me 14cp.
So, the daemons are just there for CP. Or do you find they do a job in games?
Good thoughts, thanks everyone. Morty is so tempting, I have him in a list with a Feculent Gnarlmaw at the moment, but in ITC I fear he dies before having an impact.
For the rest, I am a pure nurgle (daemon and Deathguard) player so don't have access to any other daemons or CSM and sadly don't have the money to branch out, at least not while I am buying Knights
You need a sorcerer with warp time for Morty. If you do go first he will die so make sure the rest of the army can make up for his sacrifice. Right now IH is wrecking knights. Facing them it is go first or die. If you want to play Nurgle drop the winged sorcerer into souped up battalion for warp time.

The nurglings take objectives at start of the game and give me board comtrol/denial. The poxbringer deep strikes turn 2 as close to morty as possible and casts flleshy abundance and hopefully buffs him with +1 strength and locus of nurgle.
If my opponant shoots morty my knights live another turn if they shoot the knights well morty makes them regret it
