This maybe obvious for many, but as a fairly green player still, I don't know the answer...

If I land my Marine Assault Squad with jump packs 9" away from an enemy during movement (having declared them flying high at the start of the game), can I charge with them during the same turn?

Thanks.

Yes you can.

A point people often get wrong at first here: you will need to roll a 9 to get within 1", not just 8.

This is because if an 8 got you within 1", then you must have started within 9" which means you would have deployed illegally.

Chances of getting a 9+ on 2d6 is less than 30%, so it's not very reliable. If you can get a +1 or a re-roll that will make a big difference, otherwise it's best to have several units making charges so your eggs aren't all in one basket.

Unless some other rule is preventing them from doing so, yes, they may attempt a charge.

Thank you so much for clearing this up. Really helpful

Great! Thanks

Should've read the BA codex more carefully! Not only can I charge, using a 2CP strategem I can actually roll 3D6 instead of 2 for the charge!!!
