After a game of x-wing a few of us was joking around on how someone new to the game might get confused about what direction
the IG 2000 is going without looking at the stand. Then one of the guys show me this picture from years back, apparently early on
the back end was the front. I don't know if this was a fluke or a mistake from the artist, but I can understand the confusion.
Now we all know now what the front is but I never knew at one point it had changed.

You mean I've been putting my IG-2000 on the stand backwards all this time? And nobody's corrected me?

It never ends well

No-one else knows either.

Where is it ever shown? Is it comics only, or in cartoons?
If it is static pictures, it'd be easy to get confused.

But, X-wing has notches on the posts to stop you putting them on backwards.

It's a fairly common thing - Dropfleet has arguments over the direction of the Scourge Nickar, for example -

Don't think it's ever been on screen. It might be in the upcoming "The Mandalorian" series, but I think they've said it's not IG-88.

Most of the artwork has the pincers at the front.

Here is art from the first edition of the game. It would be hilarious if Fantasy Flight somehow
caused Disney to get confused on the direction it goes. Then the Disney approval guy was having
a bad day and didn't look things up.. next thing you know...

Honestly I could see it go either way.. Because I would think if a robot was flying the ship
it would just plug in somewhere and not need a cock pit, just a single eye that it is linked to.
Hence the retro rocket, plus lighting up the view port into engine blast might actually look really cool

But with it turned around maybe they where afraid people would ask what the grabby arms do in combat then,
so they just turned it around and called them stabilizers.

The other droid ship designs he did (Jeff Carlisle) also all had a single eye:

You know when I first saw this I thought the game was getting ready to nerf bat the IG2000s in an FAQ or something.
