Are the new painting sticks helpful with an airbrush? what if you're not holding on to (leaving the handle off) it or you just setting it on the table Is it heavy enough to not blow over? What's your experience so far?

The stick does look ok but the bands would annoy me,
Why not put a weight on the handle if your not holding it.
I use a cardboard box filled with polystyrene, then superglue each piece to toothpicks (heads, weapons, pads, single arms)
The bodies glued to bases are 3m doublesided to the box
Then I spray away

I got rulers from the dollar store. I’ve started gluing 3mm tall magnets under my minis to stick them to stainless sheets for transport and I found metal rules for $1 each that they also stick to for painting. I was using blue tack but the magnets let you rotate them quickly on the ruler.

I've used wooden paint stirring sticks from the hardware store since forever. a little hot glue or double stick tape whichever is easier.
I am intrigued by the citadel version and do like the "pistol" grip for control. It's cheap enuff to try it out. I really like the paint pot holder, water pot, & paint handle. yes there are cheaper(or free)available but it's worth the price of entry.

I get giant coffee mugs for holding paint water, won't tip and they have handles.

i use 1.6 x 0.6cm wooden moulding from the hardware store with blutack to hold the models in place. They usually come in 2.5m lenghts and i cut it into 5 shorter lenghts. each one fits about 5 models well spaced out enough to spray them evenly

The paint stick really only work with bases 32mm and up. Great for Space Marines. For 25mm bases the rubber bands are too thick and won't stay in place. Also with Imperial Guard and Genestealers, the stick "bed" is too larger and makes spraying from a low angle a bit tricky.
