A growing power is arising in the north. The Magyar peoples have taken large swaths of land and Byzantine spies report they are turning envious eyes to the fertile fields of the south.
Emperor Nikephoros first tried diplomacy to dull the threat, with the classic "Lets you and him fight." but to no avail. The native Slavs proved insignificant to the task, and the Petchneg King defied him publicly, "Since the Hungarians are both numerous and fierce, we do not wish to do this, and would regard it as bad for should the subject be raised again."
His turn will come, but first the main threat will have to be nullified. And against the River Raba, they meet.
It's Feudal Hungarians vs Nikephorian Byzantines in the L' Art de la Guerre battle.
