The Dakka Dakka 2019 unofficial official wishlisting thread for what you hope loved ones, significant others, family, friends, strangers and random gobbos might give you for Christmas - which, of course, relates to the wonderful world of Wargaming!

Or perhaps you're hoping for money and thus what you might put any shiny coins or gift vouchers toward!

Myself I was debating trying out some Dropfleet earlier in the year and thus I've put out hopeful suggestions of all things Scourge. Mostly sticking to smaller, cheaper packs to experiment with the models and such and keep the costs down. So I'm hoping to get at least one pack of a few little living spaceships to put together on the day!

A decent record player......

I never ask for wargaming stuff. I am much too finicky about what I want.

I don't think I've asked for anything for Christmas since maybe college.

This year that changed. The Minitech Robotech miniatures from Hong Kong went out in an email to family members, solely because as a Robotech fan I'm 100% convinced they'll randomly disappear in a month or two. Having been starved of proper Robotech wargaming minis since I was a child, I am desperate to stockpile whatever I can for gaming purposes. We have something in our family we call "The ______ Curse." (insert my last name). In my family, anything we like is discontinued. It's become a huge joke in our family.

"Man this new flavor of chip is awesome" (next week: discontinued)
"I love this clothing item." (next week: discontinued)
"This is my favourite ______." (next week: discontinued).

So, for this reason I actually did ask for some Robotech minis.

I'd like to formally request that we ban Elbows from collecting Warhammer games!

WAIT have you been buying/liking Forgeworld AoS models recently? This might explain their current slew of removals!

I am hoping my wife will play some Age of Fantasy with me when she is feeling a bit better! We don't do gifts really, but I would love to try the game out over the Christmas holidays.

Heh. I think it is intimidating for people to buy hobby stuff, especially if you have a lot of stuff. People often feel like they are going to get the wrong stuff. And the GW staff sometimes upsell people agressively and it puts them off.

Same. I'd rather ask for money and buy it myself. Maybe some books.

I am rather afraid of what people would pick.

I went through the entirety of the Lee Valley catalogs and basically picked out a list (small useful items)
I am staying away from the Amazon Prime stuff... my wife has taken over that.
My friend with the 3D printer has taken limited orders (these are your gifts from me).

When I think about it, it seems we JUST got what I wanted: Disney channel (Star Wars and Marvel!!!)
I have for the last few months been losing some 30+ pounds so clothes that fit will be a close second.
My legs are like a clapper in a bell with my old pants these days.

Yes, the young ones typically ask me to organize a game of Total CARnage or some other Dexterity Game. The young adults ask me to DM Dungeons and Dragons (Which is code for any RPG style game) for them. The older ones ask to us all to play some board or card games.

There are normally games a plenty over the Holidays, but not this year......

A copy of Space Hulk would have been mind blowing, but sadly its not in print at the moment.

I'd have to ask for finding some gamers and actually getting to play something occasionally. The blighted area I live in is a gaming deadzone as well, and it has greatly affected my sagging enthusiasm level for the hobby :(

I asked (permission) for a 3d printer. It was granted on the basis i didn't open it until christmas... so there will definately be a shiny new Prusa under the tree for me

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I asked for gift cards, because I have that secret nerd shame that forces me to purchase my own goods and services. However, I recently happened to look at my amazon orders and I saw that my Sister-in-law, who uses our account, recently purchase a Mek Gunz kit.

Fingers crossed maybe the fat man will drop a copy of the lotr sbg. Other than that I haven’t a clue apart from some bits for airsoft I asked for. Sadly no guns will be under the tree this year.

Whereabouts in NY do you live? The armpit could be a couple towns like Sidney, Norwich or...shudder...Walton! Anyway, I’m familiar with a few game stores along the I88/I81/I87 area and could point you in a few directions.

Also, my gaming wish was a SC box of StD. “Santa” got it for me. Funny that...

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.
