Hey dudes and dudettes, I'd call this game - Warhammer 40k rites of war a forgotten gem that deserves some more attention,
I'm also doing a let's play of it, so if anyone is interested join me on the fun, I could name you as some of the units, this would also make it more fun for me Link in my signature or profile. Youtube - Curly Pauly
Does anyone know this game? Has anyone played? Your thoughts on it? I personally really like it, out of all the warhammer 40k pc games that I've played, this for some reason was the best.
Have a great New Year my fellow awesome forum mates!

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

I was always partial to Chaos Gate and Final Liberation.

Plus the first 40K PC game I ever owned - Space Hulk: Vengeance of the Blood Angels.

Hey! Cool, I have Chaos Gate and Final Liberation installed, planning to check them out sometime soon, as I like turn based strategy and these seem interesting.
Never played Space Hulk, my first 40k pc game is that - Rites of War.

Yeah, I'd go with chaos gate or final liberation as better warhammer games.

Rites of war was a fairly cheap reskin for the panzer general series (after the first fantasy general spinoff, iirc), and wasn't particularly deep or good.

It was one of their last games before Ubisoft (their third owner in 7 years, as they were bought by mindscape in 1994) retired the brand and effectively axed the studio.

If you like Rites of War, you might want to check out the Armageddon game that was released a few years ago.

The 40K game that I think I enjoyed the most was the original Space Hulk video game. That game had simplified controls (you could only move in the four directions), but it worked for what was needed. And there was a very strong sense of tension.

And the thing was, once you had proper tactics down, it was. The first few times I played this I thought it was ridiculously hard - once I'd figured out proper tactics I remember sailing through the final missions.
