How,do?

Been looking at my flight to NYC in June, and I can’t seem to upgrade it?

I’m flying with BA, and booked through Expedia. Don’t suppose we’ve more regular jet setters that might be able to shine a light?

Are you trying to upgrade through BA or Expedia?

Kinda both!

Haven’t been out the U.K. since 1997, so I’m fairly clueless.

Hmm, weird. I do fly a lot, but I'm usually too tight to upgrade. The prices are ridiculous.
Maybe try phoning either one instead of the (I suspect intentionally) overly complicated online thingies.
Or maybe you can only upgrade on check-in. I dunno.

Yeah, giving the airline a ring is the best bet. You can generally also upgrade on check in but it will depend upon on how full the flight is (also the charge for it can be massive). Done this quite a few times with Air NZ, JetStar, China Southern, Cathay and MAI and never had an issue.

On parle toujours mal quand on n'a rien à dire.

UK

when you call them if they won't let you upgrade now (for example the flight is 'full') ask whether it might be possible later and if so when

there might be more seats they've just not put on the market yet

you also get folks cancelling so if your unsuccessful it might be worth another try closer to the time of travel

Cheers for the tips.

Booked premium economy, but hoping for Business Class.
