Hi is there anyway to remove paint Ona small area of a model, for example if the paint had been applied too thick and filled some detail

Very carefully with a pin/hobby knife?

I’d not want to use chemicals to strip a very small area. You might be able to do so with a brush/cotton swab to put a little bit on the area and hopefully not affect the area around it. But a lot of them just soften the paint, so you would need to scrub anyway. Which you cannot do with precision.

Steady hand and a prayer to the God Emperor.

I used an exacto with broken/dulled tip. If you have extra hobby dollars, micro chisels will give you stiffer tip with better control.

Isopropyl alcohol is good for this, get a little amount on the end of a cotton swab and it'll rub off. If it's in a crevice or a little detail, then you might need something like a tooth pick to loosen it.

Even if you are using a knife, if you apply a little layer isopropyl to the paint before you scrape at it; you'll find it comes off much more easily.
