I am taking my first stab at using contrast paints and was wondering if anyone has tried using a grey primer and how it impacted the color.

Consider it the same way that layer paints will get completely different results depending on which base colors you use.

There is no real way to tell what result you are going to get without doing the experiments yourself. You can get a bit of an idea. Like obviously with the contrast your highlights won't be as highlighted. Expect the whole thing to get darker. What grey you use will have a major impact since greys are rarely purely neutral. You have warmer redder greys and cooler bluer ones.


These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.
